I started buy Knipex tools many years ago and my collection of them is vast and the Cobra/Pliers wrench are some of the best. I just recently purchased 2024 ZX6R motor cycle and needed to adjust the chain, I needed a 32mm socked and didn't have it on hand, but the 12 inch pliers wrench did the job of loosening and tightening that castle nut with ease. The twin grip is my latest addition and it's awesome.

Cobra xs pliers are with me 24/7. That plus the 180 twin comfort grip and 180 plier wrench smooth grip along with a Milwaukee fastback with the screwdriver are enough for almost any job I do as a maintenance tech. Of course I use an impact for most fastener work but I could get by with those four hand tools.

Cobra 150 for edc, Cobra 180 around the house, or in the pocket at work and the Cobra 250 in the toolchest at work. The general use pliers Knipex 03-02-180 , are my favorite pliers ever, they cut cable easier than any other I ever had, easier even than the Knipex angle cutters, that have longer handle!!! Also Knipex pliers wrench, either the 180 or the 250 depending on your needs! There are so many other great tools this company makes, that it could be difficult, to include them all, or even create a "Top 10" !!!

Greetings from Germany... where these are all a bit cheaper, fortunately. I‘m a big Knipex fan myself, owning more than 25 different types. The oldest one I‘ve got is older than me, it was made in the early 60ies, it‘s a flat one without any grip coating. Although I also have a modern one of that type with the comfort grip, too, sometimes the older one just gives a better touch to the things gripped. I prefer the 150 and 250mm Cobras: the latter being a beefy waterpump pliers as we know them, but the 150er is a class of its own, extremely handy. And I‘m not a big fan of the combination pliers; they do various tasks, but none of them really well. On my list would be the CoBolt 250 as the strongest cutter there is in that length category.

Cobra XS model was my first buy from Knipex. Never really experienced them famously "gripping" a dam thing while I just let them hang there... but they're 2oz or whatever and cute and waaaaay more useful as a set of pliers than my Leatherman Skeletool. If I want a "comfort grip" I just wear gloves.

I also went about buying my Knipex a bit different than you say.. I buy the ones that I can afford the most expensive ones first and then the cheaper ones I buy later because I can afford the cheaper ones much easier that I can afford the more expensive ones after being disabled for 20 years. It's certainly not easy to buy tools on disability income. And I'm not reliable for anybody to hire so any work I do is for myself. And is very limited due to the unpredictability of Crohn's disease and I have the worst case of Crohn's disease my doctor has seen in his 28-year career I've had this for 22 years now.. nothing is easy. I couldn't disagree with any of the five. They are my five in various shapes and sizes. The end grips at number 2, I would swap for the newer Knipex 61 01 200 but apart from that My five mirrors your five, even to the sizes. Cobra 250's are probable the best Cobra's but my favourite set are my 180's. They are lighter, smaller and do 95% of what a pair of 250's and get in smaller spaces. My twin grips exceeded my expectations, they are worth every penny, they live in my tool box doing very little until I come across a rounded out screw that could hold me up for an hour. The twin grips put their cape on like a super hero and have that screw out in less than a minute or two. Good video, just think about acoustics, add some sound deadening where you are videoing to softening the sound. Any cushions or material will work.

  • @ParklanCustom

I do prefer the 61 01 200 over the standard end cutters, the reason I chose the standard end cutter simply came down to price, they are about half the price of the 61 01’s. Also I have been looking into improving the sound quality, so you recommendation was right on time! I appreciate the advice on how to improve the sound quality!

They SURELY are not the "bang for the buck", that title usually belongs to Irwin, but they are also not the best money can buy, you know? They frequently show their value in neat design tricks here and there, but besides that, they are just overpriced. Not just Knipex, German brands in general are overpriced. Again, they are top quality, but for the same money or less, you can buy American or Japanese tools that actually perform better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
