The Semi in Nebraska, if I remember correctly, was on its way to the Boat, Sports, and Auto show happening at the Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska in 1985. I was at that event, and had pictures taken with KITT, which was on static display at the show. Unfortunately, we could not get back to where the semi was, as it was in a restricted area. But I can definitely confirm that the semi was in the area, as it was around the same time as the auto show.

My brother was at that show at the Civic Auditorium as a small kid. He doesn't remember seeing the semi, but he thinks that it was around April of 1985. I always assumed that the KITT he saw was one of the replicas, but if the trailer was there, maybe it was the real hero car.

In 1985 at this time I was 9 years old. I just like Chris would have lost my mind. I was lucky enough to visit Universal Studios, & sit inside Joe's KITT that we saw on Jay Leno's Garage. This was around the tine they took KITT off of display over the water in the early 90's. I didn't talk to the cast member in the car that day. I knew it was not KITT'S real voice, & didn't want to ruin the the experience of sitting in the real car! Awesome episode Joe, & awesome pictures Chris! Hello from Phoenix Arizona🌡🔥

Back in the 80’s after the show was over, here in the quad cities, the semi brought kitt to a car show put on by Jay ohrberg who was from here in moline Illinois. He also had several other cars at that show like the coyote x and the a team van. He actually gave his son Nye a few of the cars and occasionally you’d see them at car shows and randomly driving here in our area. The coyote from season 1 is still here in bluegrass Iowa owned by my friends father. Not sure if tge kitt that Nye drove on a regular basis was a show used car or a circuit car but as a kid growing up in the 80’s it sure was cool to see it here in my area

Since they usually film more than they use, the flag semi might have been filmed in Chicago and that footage for whatever reason wasn't used. It also makes sense to use the truck as an actual truck to get things to film locations, its already owned and insured. Its enclosed which means it can be locked and could hold a lot more than just a single car. Kind of a shame more people didn't have cameras with them back in the 80s, as we have now. You would have had photos of it every time it stopped for fuel or the night from the entire trip up and back.

Working in productions from time to time. I think you will find that the Semi serves double duty on locations. I bet it carried tools and parts for Kit along with other needed production stuff. To help consolidate vehicles and costs going on locations. I also think that when they took the Semi out before each season to film insert shots and B roll. That everything they needed to go from location to location was probably on the Semi.

It made sense for the studio to use the semi as a transporter, purely from a financial perspective. Otherwise the semi would have just been a very expensive prop for B-roll shots. And so they could simply use the semi to do what it did best, transport KITT.

Already confirmed but yes I80 is the main route Chicago to LA. While not during production I did spot the FLAG trailer several times being hauled by a different tractor and being in the northwest burbs of Chicago near where one of the expressways ended and one of the state routes leading to central Wisconsin was I always saw the truck with the trailer at the same intersection either heading from or towards Chicago so I'm assuming some time in the very late 80s early 90s the trailer did a stint in service as it's intended service as a electronics transportation trailer as it absolutely was the FLAG trailer or someone painted up an incredible replica though I'm leaning towards the actual thing and some local trucking outfit picked up gear on the cheap through studio sales as for a number of years after the show Movin On ended the S. Pruitt Kenworth showed up on that same routing.

This raises questions for me. I have loaded and unloaded trailers. Were there provisions in the FLAG trailer for securing the hero car? Some kind or cleats in the floor for tie-downs, perhaps? Are there holes going through the floor and into the frame of the trailer, where there may have been eyelets or tie-down rings? Putting a quite valuable custom celebrity car in park and using the emergency brake would not have been sufficient for traveling more than half way across a very large country.

@@davidjames1389 they haul far more expensive cars in, enclosed trailers all the time. If you have ever seen one of Reliable Carriers Inc bright orange truck and trailers, you have seen enclosed auto transport trailers. They transport monster trucks and race cars in enclosed trailers. Battery operated air compressor looks handy too, I've got tire repair kit in my Kia (Knight Industries Automobile, haha), and the compressor takes power from 12V socket in the dashboard, so wireless compressor certainly would be easier to use.

He could have left an archive of photographs, diaries, schedules, documents, etc. Or maybe his family would know more about his job and stories he told? "He used to talk nonstop about exactly how that pulley system worked!" 😅Maybe he had kids who grew up driving around for Universal Studios with their dad! I doubt he only did this for one fan. I have one of those Air Compressors, mine is from Ryobi. But they are great. Makes it so easy to top off you tires every once in a while. LOL that scene from NIght at the Juggernaut, there is an Inline 6 cylinder head on the table. Definitely just random parts stuck there for scenery.

So in a way. Kitt was in the mobile unit in route to his and Michael’s next mission. At least once during filming.

Do you think it would be possible that the driver's or other drivers family would have some personal photos that would help in re creating paint schemes or small details if need be? Would be interesting to hear from some of thise individuals on thier experiences.

Are you100% sure the picture of the Goliath (8:49) truck and the second picture (9:29) are the same truck? The first picture the truck tractor unit has black rear wheels , no silver wheel arches over the back wheels , copper / gold coloured grill and no fake sleeper) The second truck has silver rear wheels , the silver wheel arches , silver grill and the fake sleeper.

Lol, I bought one of those tire inflators from TEMU a few months ago. It works great, but I wish it had the threaded tire valve end instead of the 90° lever lock style.

How come the side door to the semi is surrounded by silver in one pic and blacked out in others in this video?

The night rider semi truck was always going the wrong way, because when Michael backed out he had to do a reverse 180 and go the other way, every single time..

Now that we know they actually transported the hero car in the trailer it raises a new question. How did they tie it down? Might have to take a second look at the floor.

Was any of the surviving screen used k.i.t.ts ever in the trailer in the show. Or are the cars used you see going in and out in the show all gone.

I noticed in the stock footage, the trailer has a silver outline on the side door then it doesn't. Also, what is the logo on the General's mudflaps?
