They were incredible, and the fact that at least one of them are huge KR fans who actually work there because of the show, was the icing on the cake. College of the Canyons is a wonderful establishment, as is the Advanced Technology Center: atc.canyons.edu

Being a massive Knight Rider fan but living in the UK I rely on you and the K.R Historians for this stuff which I could never do. Thank you for the nostalgia.

Wow, so many goose bump moments there. especially the double door outline still on the wall where you faded out the 80s footage leaving the outline visible, and the roller shutter coming down with the big 5 still on it. Amazing work here Peri.

Tears in my eyes, Peri. Thanks for these memories. Really makes me want to binge watch Knight Rider. Haven’t watched since it aired when I was a teen.

This is a great video, I love being able to look at "then and now" videos of movie and TV filming locations , thank you to the staff and others at the location for letting us in to have a look and film 👍

I think what gets me about videos like this is that so many of my personal places from my childhood are gone. My school torn down, my video game arcade turned into someone's law office, shops where I bought my D&D stuff and plastic model kits replaced nail salons and pawn shops. It's nice to see something endure, even if it is in a changed form.

That was amazing. I really appreciate you going back to the original film location so we can all rehash nostalgia. Thank you for taking the time to out this together along with all of the other episodes with finding the location for The Duel and Knight Rider. Those were the best days and you’re bringing them back to life again for us all.

Hello, I am writing these lines as a child who grew up with Kitt in the 1980s, thank you very much, I am forty-five years old now and I pray to have a copy of Kitt one day 🙏🏻

It's such a good episode! I can think of any other show that would have something like a sentient car overcome psychological trauma.

"WOW" Perifractic: you have dusted out the cobwebs and ignited wonderful memories from a loved past history of mine. Watching your exploring of KIT's filming history gives me goosebumps and feelings of how lucky I have been growing up and being a family in the 1980s. Thank you.

Just an FYI - KITT has TWO T's, for Knight Industries Two Thousand.

It always gives me goosebumps when you find old filming locations from Knight Rider or movies like Duel etc.! Great moments and memories! 👍

Junkyard Dogs really shook me as a kid... The thought of KITT... dead... It was just so much for a little kid. Seeing him be rebuilt wasn't just a neat scene for me... It was _needed!_ KITT _had to live_ again!

You know now that things have settled in after watching this about an hour ago, I must say this is legendary documentary film making that hits the deepest parts of the heart and soul.

We were so lucky to be kids when Knight Rider was on tv & these videos are the kind of stuff youtube was made for, thank you for making such great nostalgic entertainment

I can say that in this episode I was disoriented quite a lot about direction and positions... until you brought it all together in the end. This really illustrated the situation well and I felt I went on the rollercoaster with you. Great Job. BTW: I kind of remember this episode, but even as a kid I thought some of the "repairs" were hokey...anyway, it's all about telling a great story and having fun. Cheers!

@@RetroRecipes I think you had a huge challenge because of the remodeling done, but it was luck that you ran into someone that knew the history and helped you sort out the mystery! Even though it's a bit of trivia, those details and research made this episode complete and it wrapped up beautifully in the end!

Amazing nostalgia. This was one of my favorite episodes when I was a kid as well. It aired February 3 of 1985, exactly 39 years ago. Season three Episode 14 junk yard dog. Thanks so much!

What an amazing trip down memory lane. How wonderful the feeling must have been when you found this location. I rewatch Knight Rider (every episode) at least once a year. Here's to hoping we get a new movie/TV show based on it in the future.

What an absolutely epic and well crafted video - the walk around and fades into episode footage with the Knight Rider 2000 theme tune gave me goosebumps!

Mega video Perifractic. It looks like I clicked on the link anyway. All to see Knight Rider-based Retro Fun. Seeing that room full of Apple II computers may explain the Apple Soft KITT integration that took place in a later episode. I look forward to more Revelations from you and the Knight Rider Historians. KITTesla is still going strong I see.

After years of watching KZread, this is the first time I've ever sent a Super Thanks--I had to set it up and everything. This was my favorite/heartbreaking episode of Knight Rider from my childhood. Thank you for putting in all the work and dedication to finding this piece of my childhood.

And for such discoveries, great Knight Rider archeologist Indiana Fractic, I thank you very much and waiting eagerly for even more future discoveries of the past of our childhood.

This bought back memories of watching this episode on a Thursday night at 730pm on Thames TV (peri will be able to relate this). This episode bought a lump to my throat back in the day, and as you say the music on the episode was extra good (one of the tunes sounding a bit like axel f which came out shortly afterwards). Thanks for the hard work perifactic

Seeing that number 5 on the door was WILD! Thanks so much for sharing this with us. So many bloopers kn this episode but my favourite was always the fact that you could spot primer KITT early, in the background of the shop when they were still focusing on acid KITT. One last thing, the echoing audio from the show in the corridor etc... goosebumps! 10/10 production dude

Peri That extra prop that you're talking about is the self-destruct " countdown mechanism" from the miniseries V. They had to insert two "keys" for it to activate. Wow as a young boy I'm not sure who I had a bigger crush on Patricia McPherson ,( Bonnie) or Jane Badler (Dinna ) from V. Tuff call. Extraordinary video. Great detective work. Man the Knight Rider historians are going to love you!!!!!

As a child of the 70s/80s and a current Valencia resident, I found this episode fascinating! Great work!

Perifractic, you are my ultimate tour guide to the wonder years.

Understandably Junkyard Dog is a favourite episode of many, back in the day I didn't always record Knight Rider, but I definitely recorded Junkyard Dog on VHS and I just about wore that tape out. Takes me back to a happier place in time. In retrospect as an adult in a world with the internet and backups my number one question now is "why isn't KITT just regularly backed up" so that if anything like this happens, you just build another one, but obviously that takes away all the drama! Fabulous seeing these locations and even cooler that they know there's a history there. Look forward to seeing the continuation!

Thank you for giving us a glimpse of the past Knight Rider locations, this was one episode I couldn't watch without crying when I was a kid, Knight Rider was a huge part of my childhood as I have seen KITT in person. I still have my Knight Rider poster on my wall. Thanks to those people at the school for letting you walk around the building. Can't wait for part 2 of this video.

Wow, I felt the adventure of exploring room by room to find the exact location according to the film. I feel very curious and also feel satisfied.

really, these vids always get me in the feels. Growing up in germany I have seen episodes of the cult 80s shows like Knight Rider, Airwolf, Miami Vice, Riptide (I loved the nerd hacker in that show :) ) only sporadically, so while i loved them I never got that attached since I never really was able to watch it regularly in order, though I remember them very very fondly. But you really manage to draw me in with your clear love for the show. When you finally realized where the rooms are you had me grinning with relief and even getting a bit teary eyed. Can't wait for the next episode and kudos for the people from the school for allowing you back with even more access, really cool.

I have Air Wolf and Street Hawk content planned, however ultimately I have to do what inspires me the most first, and that will always be a personal choice. As such it's impossible for me to please everyone with every topic; thanks for your understanding. Make sure you've checked out all the vids though as I bet there are some topics you missed that you might prefer :)

The echos of the past are a nice touch and solidify the fact those iconic scenes in Junk Yard Dog were filmed there so many years ago. The most touching effect was placing the image of Micheal peering through the lector room doors into bay 3. Fortunately for us the alterations to the building have been minor. Hopefully they allow the building to remain as close to its filming condition as possible. It is awesome that one of the teachers is aware of the role the facility played in 1980s television history.

I'm getting sentimental with old age... went to see the Junk Yard Dog episode and cried when Michael heard KITT making jokes while describing the city of Helena, Montana.

That was brilliant, fantastic find and excellent editing. Was so good of the school to allow you to wander. I was 8 years old when this came to the UK and I never would have dreamt it would hold such interest all these years later. Rewatched the entire series again recently and still love it.

This is the coolest way to relive one’s childhood….thx for the vid, man!
