Im new to making knives myself and I see so many "fancy" things out there. Inlays, pattern welds, guards, etc., I cant help but be attracted to the simpler styles. Your work is inspirational.

Those fancy stuff are usually made by blacksmiths that have tens of years of experience (and failures among them). I don't know that much about actual blacksmithing, seen just.couple hundreds of videos about it and read couple of "guides of short" but i am biased towards pattern (a.i. Damascus). Blades made from millions of layers of Damascus folded again and again seems stronger , more durable and with better edge retention than a blade made from a chunk of metal (like no matter how good that steel is supposed to be). It's not to say the guy in the vid doesn't do a good job, but it still seems like cutting corners tbh. The end product looks nice , but function>aesthetics in my book It's just my 2 cents.

I would love to see this integrated into a backpack strap. If you inlay an o-ring into the inside sheath, you can enable a water-tight fit and a system that won't accidentally open. Fantastic build! Well done.

For those that doent see it, If you put pressure on this blade it would roll 45 degrees to the flat of the handle against your grip. I cringe when I hear of tools that get praise for their anesthetics rather than their practical use. The craftsman deserves your praise, not the tool. Great simplistic craftsmanship, but not practical. Maybe cut a small flat section on the handle opposite to the blade to assist. Right about the area your thumb would sit. This would help a bunch and it wouldn't completely destroy your vision.

Always love your knives. Creative and unique concepts and execution. I would have perhaps tried to add a detent to hold the shealth on more securely though.

Nicely made with a modern aesthetic and functionality. However, ultimately a novelty item, the performance of which, would not stand up to that of a more traditional blade. Where it fails is the handle. The handle of any knife is as important as the blade in enabling skilled use of the knife. The handle of this knife would not feel comfortable and organic in the hand which, as a consequence, would reduce the efficacy of the knife.
