'수제칼은 비싸다?' 라는 말을 할 수 없는 영상..... 이렇게 힘든 노력과 정성이 들어갔는데 와 진짜 끝내줍니다.
I'm not a knife or sword guy, but I can definitely appreciate the skill and craftsmanship involved in the knife making process. It's truly an art form. Thanks for sharing.

It's the opposite of art, it's just science. Bring metal to a certain heat so the crystals stay in shape but it's hot enough to stretch the metal. Elongate the crystals by hammering and flattening it. Rinse repeat. Sprinkle borax every x folds on/in between. There's such a large amount of emotional psuedo science going on around swords/knives. I like seeing someone work metal the old fashioned way, but machines easily do it better/faster/cheaper.

It's always a pleasure to watch a master craftsman create such high quality thank you for making this video
After watching a fe forging videos over the years I have grown to love Damascus knives. I didn't used to like the pattern but after seeing the effort that goes into them I can't get enough
This is one of the coolest videos I've seen in a very long time. Watching the slag fall off during the twisting process was just so great. I'm not sure why, but I love seeing steel being purified under heat and a hammer. At first, I wondered how he could ever make a living doing this one knife at a time. Crafting 4 knives at once answered that question.

Remember that it is not absolutely easy ... It is one thing to see a video, another is to put it into practice ... You need an Incredible Eye ... You must recognize from the Color of the Material when it is at the right temperature to be worked on otherwise you risk frustrate the whole procedure, only experience can tell you and no one else, most likely this Master that we see started this Art as a Child or Adolescent perhaps seeing His Father or another Master, I worked 20 years with a Craftsman Blacksmith and I know what I'm saying... You can NOT improvise or dabble... Before reaching this Master's level you need Years and Years of experience, otherwise you'll throw away time and money.

The quality of metal is unreal! The amount of sparks coming off when grinding makes that apparent. He's absolutely amazing. That twisting process and the way he cleans the impurities after every step is amazing. This type of quality rarely exists today, and in another 50 to 100 years, it'll be all but gone. Congratulations on being one of the best in the world at your craft.

For handforged steel sure, but the unfortunate fact remains that factory produced steel is simply superior (if the right considerations are made on the type of steel). Ofcourse you dont get the damascus patterns then and there certainly is something cool about stuff being handmade, it will always be inferior to perfectly made factory steel where the only important thing left is deciding on the right type of steel for the right job. I'm personally quite saddened by that fact.
