This is Tanto because Tanto is Katana of blade length is less than 30cm. Also Wakizashi one is between 30cm and 60cm.

The hell...? "Wakizashi style"? Do you even know what designates the name for a japanese blade? Because the main difference between a Tanto, Wakizashi, Katana and Odachi is mostly and simply blade length.
@Muppet_
5 жыл бұрын
Kyo 21943 Actually some wakizashi do fall in the range of tanto length but typically wakizashi will have more 反り,sori (curve) while tanto knives have little to none sori.
@Muppet_
5 жыл бұрын
Kyo 21943 Wakizashi will have more sori because of its function as a secondary weapon to compliment or replace 打刀(uchigatana) or 太刀(Tachi), while a tanto doesn’t need sori because of its function as 鎧通し (yoroitooshi) , to penetrate Armor.

Mine is the opposite, I have to spend like 2 days only watching this then I watch 1 video from someone else and it annoys the hell out of me
This knife is so beautiful. Thankyou KZread recommendations.
i come here every couple of weeks and watch this video again and again and swallow my pain of not having this. :( its perfection itself.
Man. Let me start out by saying, I love your work. There was once a time where I wanted to make knives and travel, and watching you really sparks the inspiration to do that. I recently subscribed and I know this is an older video, but man. Thank you so much for being exactly where I needed you to be. I greatly appreciate it.
This is my favorite knife build on KZread. Thank you.
I have been a fabricator for almost 20 years and they tell you what I can really appreciate the effort that this guy puts into doing this all by hand. Sometimes you just need an idea so I might even give it a go myself. Best video of it's kind that I've seen
This knife is darker than my soul
this is not only structurally close to the historical weapon but also hell of a build. carving hardwood handle and saya are tiring enough but you did it with micarta, super hardcore build right here.
Love it! The end result is subtle with that tiny hint of flair. Awesome.
This is a great testament to craftsmanship and artisanship. All the comments in these types of videos are "don't do this, you could have done this better," but this is a really great video and demonstrates true dedication to craft, beauty, and functionality. Great job sir.

It is very hard to improve your craft without criticism. No one is saying his blade sucks, just that it can be improved.
I like the blend of traditional style with modern techniques and materials. Very nice.
