The speed this man works at is amazing. Such quality and knowledge with simple tools. You're a legend.
The work looks an easy 12 minutes job, but it’s much harder in reality. I’ve been once sat down close to someone who does this job. Yes companies do this job in 2 minutes with machinery, but doing it with your own hand, is something satisfying and you would be proud of your work
Mantep bang tajem banget goloknya ,,, sukses selalu ,,,, 👍👍👍
Well done! Tough, sharp, blade and made to be used and last for years!
Excelente trabajo. La templada del filo, super.👍👍👍
Vulcano es una alpargata al lado de ese joven, ¡Maestro!! Precioso cuchillo.
All I can say is WOW!!! you do amazing work!!!!! Love watching the videos

It looked like he quenched in water. I thought you were supposed to quench in oil ?

It only needs to kill two goats then they will make another one.

@@PLAZALOT58 You can use either but most use oil because it's more forgiving. Water will actually make the blade harder but you're more likely to get cracks or bends in the blade. Most 3rd world blades I've seen are primarily edge quenched in water. They seem to quench at a lower blade temperature though and the water tank is right next to the forge to keep it on the hot side lessening the shock on the blade. In short blades were quenched in water for thousands and thousands of years before oil came along.

@@slimjim7411 that’s very interesting. Everything I know comes from watching Forged in Fire . I remember they would always cringe when someone went to the water. Thanks for explaining that !

Sir I have one question this leaf spring is already hardened by company when theu are using for vehicle then why you are again giving heat treatment.
@SmithingSkill1
2 жыл бұрын
Yes company is harden the spring but when we heat again the spring the spring harden is gone that why we have to hard again

Also, to take the curve out, you have to aneal the steel otherwise you won't have a straight blade.... 5160 (like a leafspring) is one of my favorite blade steels and then of coarse the daddy of them all, 80CRV2....

Company me spring ko itna hard banaya jaata hai ke wo lache(shocker) ka kaam kare, par knife ke liye tempering kiya jaata hai taaki wo full hard ho aur lache nahi naa dhar mure
@Andreas-zp8ni

In order to form it , has to be cut and hammered; it is difficult without heat. It originally is very stiff and hard ,as a spring. Heating makes it soft and pliable.
