Even suggesting Rodri for that time period is an absolute embarrassment. Kante brilliant but played less than half the season he could never stay fit and Busquets is the best DM of all time but was well past his best. Casemiro is the only comparison.

Makelele playmaking ability was underrated. I remembered multiple teams in the EPL manmarked Makelele to stop the counter attacks he would release.

I am a die hard Red and been going home and away for 30 odd years. I have been fortunate enough to witness some of the best players to ever live in the flesh including Messi, Ronaldo, Fat Ronaldo, Nesta, Maldini, Cannavaro... the list goes on. However, putting my Virgil bias aside, John Terry is the best defender I have ever seen in person. Good with both feet, could ping, brave, strong, great in the air, scored goals, proper leader, proper captain and a serial winner. If there was ever a defender that I wish was a scouser who played for Liverpool it would have been him.

Yeah, because sometimes the records aren’t just down to individual players, they’re down to systems. Liverpool played all out attacking football, Mourinho played very defensive football, so naturally they will concede fewer goals. We’re comparing individual seasons, a season in which VVD finished only a handful of votes off winning the Ballon Dor, he was that good. No CB on the planet came close to him from 2018 up until he done his ACL.

I am sure John Terry was pretty painful to play against for strikers. Great leader aswell.

If anybody watched carvalho before and after Chelsea. They will know the fella was one of the best defenders of his generation. From a porto fan. I tell ya the man has a footballing iq on par with the best. I'm not gonna sit here and say he was better or worse than Terry or any other top level defender. However, comparing him to the greatest shouldn't be a shock as he is a great himself. Prem league watchers just live in their own bubble and anything beyond that is out of their reach.

How dominant were liverpool when they won the league? Still didn't have the best defence in prem history. Carvalho and JT were incredible. I had a season ticket over that time and often would check the reviews of games. Terry would get a 7 or 8 rating and Carvalho would get a 6 when if anything, would be the other way around. I am Portuguese and Carvalho its top 2 center backs from Portugal. He goes against pepe but even when he was playing with 38 he was one of the best cbs on the world

As a Chelsea fan, I would've liked a representative with more passion and more drive within his arguments for this simply phenomenal Chelsea team. Brilliant overall team but come on be more passionate with your arguments show some convictions and don't let yourself be walked over by scousers.

Can’t be that passionate about something that happened when he was about 5-10 years old I’d imagine. Not sure why he didn’t go for Carlos 2010 team. Essien and A.Cole would of been shoe ins . Anelka arguably too. Could of had 6 Chelsea Cech JT Cole Essien Lampard Drogba. And argued a case for anelka over Salah and probably more memorable fir his given it was 5 years later

Also 2010 CFC front 3 scored 52 goals and 2019 Liverpools front 3 scored 42 . Malouda scored more than mane did. And Ballack gets in over Henderson.

Statistically that one season based on points tally’s that Liverpool side is the 2nd best in prem history. Just behind the centurions in Man City. I don’t get why all these rival fans getting so triggered 😂

Drogba scored 10 goals in the league that season, Firmino had 9. And we all know who does more in other aspects. Firmino for that season takes it over Drogba’s season

the cole vs robertson debate is hard, robertson did nothing wrong defensively and going forward he’d provide so much, yes cole was better defensively but robertson would only give away 2/3 goals a season from individual errors whereas he’d provide 10 assists a year, cole wouldn’t concede any. It’s similar to trent vs walker, walker wouldn’t make defensive errors but wouldn’t do much going forward, trent would give up a couple goals but assist 15

Cashley is the best prem LB of al time, its not up for discussion haha.

Evra also created the best chance of the match while Cole was outran & beaten to the ball by CR7 despite cashley having a few yards headstart which almost led to 2-0 & game over. It's not hard to work out. Evra & Cashley are both the same age and they also both played for ManUtd & Chelsea respectively from 2006 to 2014 and Evra & ManUtd absolutely dominated the PL in that period and Chelski didn't at all they just got 1 fixed PL title in 8years by 1 point after cheating home&away vs the best team again ManUtd who were the better team in those head-to-heads also. Irwin would've been best LB for many PL years, likewise Evra. Where as Cashley could've only been the best PL LB for a couple years max and it would've been after Irwin left ManUtd and before Evra joined ManUtd so whilst Cashley was at Arsenal not Chelski. Evra & Cashely also moved to SeriaA in 2014/15, Evra continues to do better than Cole by winning the league and reaching another CL final. Cole won what with Roma? Cole didn't even win anything with the most famous team in MLS. Evra got further for his national team he made a final, Cashley never made it past QF. Evra even got to a champions league final with Monaco funnily enough the same year Cashley only reached the QF with so called invincibles. Cashley never won back-to-back league titles in his career despite playing 14 PL years for strong title chasing clubs etc...Evra easily could've won 7 PL's in a row but he still got 5 in 7 seasons. Evra was a very important player in ManUtd's dominance in the time he played for them and you've got to also take into account no one should've been dominating Chelski during this time Chelski were trying to buy the PL & CL every 1of those years and they just cheated/fluked 1 PL & 1 CL in those 8 years. Cole's best strength he's fast wow so is Evra, Evra was also good defender and I think better at assisting & scoring. Evra & Cashley were both 1 footed so Cashley can't even say he was better in that regard. Evra overall was just better and I don't think his better career than Cole was just a fluke. Also not just Evra & Irwin but most people in general are smarter than AshleyCole who just sounds so dumb. I bet Evra knows how to speak more languages than Cole. I was going to say Cole can only speak English but he can barely do that. He was also shit role model ill disciplined and a cheater on & off the pitch etc...
