That’s really cool. I feel like the one knock against Klein’s old 11-in-1 was always “oh but you have to use their proprietary bits.” It’s cool how they kind of addressed that with this design.

Yeah, I honestly wouldn't mind less bits and just having all the sleeves take whatever dedicated bit you want to put in. You would only have 4 bits, but sometimes it becomes a hassle remembering which bit you need to flip to get to the one you want. Or maybe do two double ended that are slotted and phillips in one sleeve (for the majority), and the other sleeve be two single bits of whatever you want...

Thanks for the review and insight at the end. I was drawn to the 11-in-1 MAG b/c my dad had one of the reversible shaft multibits in the 70s/80s when I was growing up and I felt some nostalgia toward it. (Nothing proprietary that I can see about that style btw.) But this is a pretty cool idea and I like the flexibility you demonstrated here. I'm adding it to my shopping list. BTW, Klein makes double-ended ECX bits - I checked before buying my 11-in-1. It's actually the standard single ECX bits that I can't find easily. My 14-in-1 has an ECX2, but not a 1. The only short ones I've found are the Milwaukee Shockwave ones.

Yeah same here. I buy a small Milwaukee set of bits that has them in it… they are the only ones I have found so far as well. Klein is the same for me. Nearly every old screwdriver I have is Klein, and they are what I remember as a kid. This 11-1 is a little different than the rest and I find it to be the most useful so far… but the other ones as a screwdriver work just as well. This one is just set up knowing most people carry an impact/drill these days. The being able to make your own screwdriver is what I think is great. Appreciate you watching and your thoughts.
Been using it for a couple months. Huge fan, it’s great to have a whole box of impact bits on your belt. Wish it wasn’t so sloppy though. I use those Malco drivers extensively, I may have to swap one into a side.

My Home Depot says they have newly released Klein tools in stock but I go there and can't find them. Someone I know who works there told me about an area where new tools are stored until they get around to putting them out. She dug through it and got me a new tool I wanted once before it made it to the shelf. Another tactic I use is to order it online to pickup in the store which forces them to go get it down to fulfill my order.

That was nice of her, at my store you wouldn't get that service. (with the exception of a few of them) I actually tried the pick up in store before shipping to my house. I told them to just cancel and I would ship it to my house. The inventory online at my Depot verses what is in the store is always messed up.

Although I do not trust that multi-element tools, it looks interesting. Sort of a trivia. Here in Poland in the 80s most of the screwdrivers that had plastic handles (there were quite many tools with wooden handles too) were made out of that yellow, translucent material. And they were usually very low quality. And even to this day tools with that type of handle are not associated with high quality.

I normally have not had any problems with any Klein Screwdrivers. Some of their bit holing ones (The one I use for Super Screwdriver, The Ratcheting Screwdriver with similar style) have not been real great over time. Not horrible, but not great. They are all mostly "newer" tools... so my hope is it's not a trend towards the future. But their 11-1 type like this and just dedicated screwdrivers, I normally use the handles until the bits wear out. I have some old 11-1 handles laying around the house that are pretty old. (They are missing some bits) I would like WERA to have something like this with Laser Engraved bits... or just laser sell engraved bits. The screwdrivers I have with those tips... the tips can't be beat (that's just my opinion)

It’s definitely the best 11-1 version (at first glance) I have seen. As a screwdriver It will surely hold up as well with it being impact rated, but time will tell on how well the bits and things hold up in your impact. I typically won’t use these types of bits in my impact for heavy use/torque, more in a pinch. If I’m doing heavy repetitive work I will put in a more easily replaced bit and bit driver in my impacts… but it is nice to be able to do it with this when you need it, or smaller tasks. Not as many nut driver sizes as the flip socket and not being magnetic hurts it a little… but it does have the 3 main sizes I use. With the options of swapping things out… there are enough slots to for sure build a screwdriver with the bits you use most. I’ll be doing a lot of trial and error with different combos over the next few weeks but really the nice thing about it is the handle and that piece. I can leave it as is, or I can swap stuff around and build a screwdriver for every job with whatever works best.

I know… you Metric guys get the shaft on a lot of tools. I only run into them occasionally, but you would think companies would realize they are missing out on an entire segment of the population… that and most of us would buy both versions if we needed it or not 😂
I have yet to see one in Canada ( I checked the local Depot ) We call it the Home Despot !

Mine hasn’t had it in store yet either… only online.
Home Depot’s website says it’s “exclusive”. … so you probably won’t find it elsewhere

The flip socket was the same way when it came out. Maybe Klein has a deal with them to release a tool for so many days through them prior to releasing to other stores. I bought mine through Home Depot… but it shipped directly through Klein.

Did you know that the screwdriver is the third most used tool in the average American home. A hammer is the second most used tool, and the most used tool in the average American home is the butter knife.
@MORGANSMaintenance

I can see the hammer… but would have never guessed a butter knife 😂 These 11-1 type of screwdrivers are the ones I keep in my house, the cup holder in my truck, and any other quick grab spot. Great for when you don’t 100% know what you are about to deal with.
well damn, I'm subscribed to the Klein mailing lists, and browse their product release website every month, and this never popped up!? WTF Klein.

@@wim0104 yeah I like having those as an option now… if I need magnetic I’ll throw in the flip socket or Malco. There have been multiple times I needed something a little deeper.

Another commenter said there were 3 different versions of this? That's interesting because I can't find a bit of info on this one, it's not even listed on their website. What the hell is that about?

@@darrencampbell8817 I know… they must have some deal with Home Depot to be sold in their stores they get first dibs… but to not have it on their own website??? 🤷♂️
They make a ratcheting version now, it's even better and compatible with the 1/4 pass through socket set. The socket set extension snaps into the handle and works as a nut driver for all the sockets and bits.

I have that one too.. I haven’t picked up the pass through set, but have some of the deep well flip sockets that use that adapter.

@@MORGANSMaintenance I bought the 1/4 and 3/8 drive pass through socket sets, but only carry the 3/8 in my tool bag. I don't really need the bits in the 1/4 drive set, and the 3/8 goes all the way up to 3/4 socket, the 1/4 only goes to 9/16. I don't need the extra weight of the 1/4 drive set.

I prefer dedicated screwdrivers when I’m working specific jobs myself… it is easier/faster to swap screwdrivers out of a pouch than to swap bits around in these sometimes. I like these screwdrivers in my bags for service work, in an attic, or in a crawlspace. Less tools to lose and I have more options in case I run into something weird. I get what you are saying for sure 👍
I like Klein Tools, but Klein has a crappy warranty that requires YOU to keep a receipt.😢😢

I’ve never used their warranty so that’s good to know. Some people say they take theirs into Home Depot and just swap stuff. I’ve never done it… and to be honest based on my experience of returns I find that hard to believe. Would be nice.

@@branned that stinks… you would think companies would know by now that good customer service is what keeps customers. A good or bad experience is what makes someone either a customer for life or a never buyer. Hopefully I’ll never have to use the warranty. I’ve never tried Milwaukees yet either. Ridgid is the only company I had a bad experience with so far. The best is the ole tried and true Harbor Freight. If only all warranties worked like that. 😂

I have had Craftsman and Stanley even substitute better tools and or a complete set.
I am very disappointed in Klein. I definitely won’t be purchasing anymore of their “multi tools”. I purchased both the Klein HVAC 14-in-1 and the Klein 7-in l-one impact flip socket. Neither of these tools are game changers. The HVAC tools come off of the storage slots and all fall down into the handle. The 7in1 rubber handle spins when gripping it to turn and the magnet on the tip comes out with the fastener. Theses definitely are not tradesman tools for a guy that uses them daily. Maybe they are more suited for a homeowner or DIYer

I have heard several people having problems with their magnets.. mine have not came off yet, but I also still use MALCO’S quite a bit. I generally use the Kleins as screwdrivers and impact bits in a pinch. Stinks you are having problems with yours. The only one I have been disappointed in is the Magnetic 11-1, but only because I feel it’s not magnetic enough.
This one sucks just because it's got no magnets. The 20-1 is much better

Yeah for certain things it’s not great. Sometimes a hollow bit driver is useful, but a magnetic one is usually more useful.

Milwaukee makes excellent tools. So does Klein but you Milwaukee tools are about 1/2 the cost. Klein wants to take my hard earned money for no res; benefits. Many German tools are better than Klein and cost the same or less

I run all Milwaukee power tools (for the most part) Their hand tools I have used over the years are pretty good too. Some of the best you can get at Home Depot. Klein pliers/strippers/etc. are beginning to be priced fairly high. They are good, but I prefer Knipex right now and the price is pretty close on those.
