KK downing Judas Priest Interview

Ken Downing of Judas Priest interview by Moe Nawaz: I must admit I was very nervous talking to Ken Downing at the beginning, but Ken being an absolute gentleman made it very easy as the interview continued. Talking to Ken Downing about his success in the rock group and as a successful businessman running his own businesses with a golf course which Ken built from scratch, hotel and now holiday homes at the golf course.

Well, if you're a decent person being nice is easy. Conversely, if you're a dick being an asshole comes quite easily it seems. It's only hard if you're a nice guy being an asshole or a prick being kind (unless forced for personal gain - which is more common than you think).

That is true. I remember going to a perfomance here in Belgium.. I think around the end of the seventies. Kiss was main band and Judas support band. And the crowd was split between Kiss fans and Judas fans. Outside there have been a hell of a fight... My God... It must have looked like some kind of revolution.... And when I think about it both mobs had their uniforms. Black leather Vs colorfull jeans and high heal boots ... Those where the days, Big fun..

Exactly! A radio host friend of mine told me that the most important thing to do when interviewing people, is to stay quiet. Let them speak. That´s the way to get a good interview as opposed to most of today´s journalists, who love listening to themselves. This video is pleasant and informative to watch. KK also comes across as a genuinely nice guy.

Angus is good too. But man KK is much better with his tremelo. And all of his leads sound different. Where as Angus rarely switches up his scales. He always plays in that blues pentatonic way. KK is way more creative and innovative when he plays his leads. Period. Ask anyone who plays guitar.

ANTONIO AZEVEDO - Man, I gotta agree with you. I saw KK play in Priest many many times. One time he was 3 feet in front of me. That was when they had Ripper Owens and the band was playing small bars and venues. I was lucky enough to get very close while they played that night. And when they played "Sinner" it blew my eyes and ears away!! KK tore it up!!

What a wonderful insight from Ken Downing now quite successful in business and music! I would be so surprised if he did read these comments. I say this because there has to be a point where enough exposure even for the right reasons can reach a logical limit. However, of course after having followed along with the interview I just watched, having been made at his estate; I'm a bit More inclined to think he keeps it up and it's just part of who he his. If so my warmest regards to you sir and thanks so much for your contributions, and the way in which you invoke integrity into all your pursuits. Rob from USA
