Carla, just think after today you will have decluttered 125 items from your life in a week. Blows my mind. I'm going to go home after work and declutter again. I cleaned my daughters room (well one wall) of the xmas gifts. I organizaed what was left. It was satisfying. I'm finding that when I put Carla's videos on my tv, I get motivated to get up and do some decluttering. When I sit in my chair and watch your show like I'm watching a movie, then I get inspired to just go look in particular areas to see what can go and leave my life (LOL). I took pictures of clothes my daughter left before leaving for college and sent the the pics to her. She did a yes and no on them and I was left with 3 items she kept. I'm proud of her. It frees up the room for whatever it will be next. - Thank you Carla

That's awesome, decluttering remotely! When I was cleaning out my storage unit last year, I'd send photos of things to my girls before donating. Glad I finally learned how to take and send pics on my phone LOL

I have covid, but I don't want to skip a video on my own channel this week. I think I'm going to follow your lead and do the same in my kitchen. It has needed a clean out for a very long time. Thank you!

We moved all of the plasticware from takeout orders into the glove boxes of our cars. It seemed silly, until we stopped at a very, very disorganized fast food place on a road trip. They didn't give me any, and I was absolutely not going back in there, so I felt like a genius when I had something to eat with!

YAY I finished my day 5 also! I decluttered a whopping 200 things....it feels so great!! New 2023 energy!!

Thank to you and this awesome series, I''ve got extra motivated this week and did a huge declutter in my entire home. My house is neat, clean and ready to start the new year! Have a great weekend, Carla!

Carla, just a quick note to say thank you. You are so likable and relatable, and alllll the things... and I always look forward to and appreciate your videos. That is all.🥰

💡I would put the spinning plate with cooking oil in the middle of the kitchen cabinet and on the right next to it I would put the basket with spices. So it easier to reach.

Tip for the smoke detector, they make 30 year ones now, never have to change the battery, just replace the whole thing after 30 years (or if there is a fire because the smoke gunks up the insides). I have a dual one that detects smoke and carbon monoxide.

They also make a smoke detector now specifically for kitchens. They recognize typical cooking smoke and aren't triggered as easily. I need one!

So many people i think are ashamed to declutter...to take stuff somewhere else...but you make it feel normal😊❤

That vase you mentioned that you liked - it looks like it's silver - if you polish it (I use my jewelry cleaner) it would shine so brightly! They are beautiful!

This was such a cool contrast from your first kitchen declutter! This is the reality of keeping a neat and purposeful home, it takes commitment and consistency. There’s always going to be a future declutter, but it’s easier every time. And I can see how comfortable you are in your space now, and how confident you are in how it needs to work for you. There’s no guilt or shame, and no overwhelming anxiety in this video. It’s proof that the hard work pays off.

You could stick mirrors to the top ("ceiling") of the cupboard. This way you can see whats on the top shelve. Great accent btw. 😁

I'd keep the teapot..display on top of the pantry... Odd numbers look best ..or take the top off and use as a vase ..it's a special piece. Thanks for a motivating series!

That silver vessel you kept in the end, I think its silver? You should try and put it in your sink, fill the sink with water, some white vingar and dish soap and see what happens! Gonna sparkle!

Best before is not the same as expired. Dry goods can last longer when properly stored. Expiry dates are for wet goods, which can spoil or run the chance for contamination and for items that have fussy storage needs. Common sense and a sniff test should prevail as well.

I know it's adding things but a pothos inside that blue enamel pot would look really nice on your shelf. I really liked this week of decluttering, thank you for your videos!

I have gone through a pretty significant journey in terms of decluttering before discovering your channel. However, after binge watching your videos most of the weekend, I have finally tackled those ignored areas like cleaning products drawer, household electronics (looking at a steamer bought 4 years ago and NEVER used) and tea (such as expired boxes of teas I kept telling to myself I'd use up one day - went into compost). Thank you for all the inspiration 🙂

I loved this series so much. All week I find myself just randomly throwing sh#% out…. Ummm. I mean “decluttering” and I dig being saddled with less stuff. It feels good to give myself permission to eliminate excess by donating perfectly good items I don’t use or want. Thank you! ❤

So satisfying to watch! I also keep expired food and go off of smell, look, and taste. I just like to do this to know what needs to be used soonest. Like you, I find decanting extremely satisfying

Your hair would look great at any length, so why not go for a change? It grows out quickly if you don't like it, anyway! LOL The spice mix (cardamom, cacao and cinnamon) would be lovely in hot chocolate too, I think - or possibly if you fancy doing a bit of baking, like an apple cake? You've inspired me to get my step stool and have a look on the top shelves in the kitchen to make sure they're being well-used. I have so little storage in my new home, every single thing has to justify its place, or it has to go. This has been a lot of fun, Carla, thank you for making this short series of videos because it's really encouraging me onwards. See you next time!

Carla, if you didn’t throw out the old small spices with black lids peel stickers & wash them out and use them for your (cardamom mix spice packets). The combination in that packet is great for a latte, sprinkle it over a homemade latte…yum. I think you can fit that popcorn from the bag into one of those jars with a lid you have in the shelf. I had too many coffee makers at one time. Two espresso makers, two Kemix, and Nepresso machine, I’ve got that down to 3 items. Cooking gadgets for me were like lipgloss, hard to get rid of until you realize you don’t really use them or need them. Great job girl I love this series 😊 thank you for the encouragement 😀 Oh I had a mini thrift store drop off today too, 3 items

Carla, your smoke detector is expired. The sensors go bad. Be sure to be safe and get a new one perhaps with the carbon dioxide combo!

How about saving the little blue teapot and use it to store something in . Like tea bags , twist ties or rubber bands etc .

Hey Carla! This series has been great. Very motivational. I have to say…you are much more quick and ruthless with your decisions. It’s more evidence that the more I practice ridding my life of unneeded things, the easier it should become. Did you get your smoke detector put back up? If you address it in a more recent video, forgive me. I’m always behind. 😆 Oh, one other thing of concern…you had almond milk in that upper cabinet for making drinks. I assume once you open it, you do put it in the fridge? Yes? I know you noticed your sprinkle cheese got left out on the lazy Susan. But, for some reason I was concerned that the almond milk was opened. 😉

almond milk was brand new lol and once opened goes in fridge :) and omg i have not done the detector yet....yikes!!! this week it's gettin done i finally bought the right battery for it!!

The expired things add up quickly here too! I started decluttering a spice area while cooking, and got rid of alot of my outdated spices. However, my fiance refuses to let go of the 50+ that he has; together we have 2 jars of cinnamon sticks, 5 jars of ground cinnamon! Apparently we are Cinnamon hoarder twins...

Cinnamon is good for you; use extra! I keep one in my car for when I treat myself to a McDonald's plain latte.

The box of milk if it has been opened , the box needs to be pitched . I would not use the box if it has been opened and not stored in the refrigerator .

F.y.I., the almond milk should be refrigerated after opening. 😉

I will put it in a vlog one day but here it is. Spray inside of a mug. 3T oat bran tsp of cinnamon stir it together. 3T diet soda like zevia into the microwave for 3-5 mins depending how crunchy you want. ❤️
