Just a suggestion: unused discarded medications and supplements can be taken to Walgreens/CVS and placed in a receptacle that will destroy them, rather than put them in trash/landfill and contaminate the land, soil, water. Just a thought.

I found a fantastic cobbler who has given new life to old shoes AND my daily go-to shoulder bag. This was a great list, just remember that there are ways to keep the things that you love going for a bit longer. Plus you're helping a small business and keeping stuff out of the waste stream.

Hi Carla, new subscriber here out of Charlotte, NC. Tour channel came up in my feed about 2 weeks ago. I have a small apartment like yourself. I ask myself at times how can one person make this mess....lol. I don't care hoe clean a person is. This is a daily job to declutter. Well keep the videos coming. I loved your European vacation. I also love seeing a strong black woman like myself not falling in line with societies narrative of us.

What a motivating video! Sure made me whiz around for a 30 min declutter. And I LOVED your position on the handbag, although it looked lovely. But 98% is not good enough for a queen.

My kids always check the expiration dates of condiments at my mom's house. One time my husband opened the fridge and saw she had a can of whipped cream. He loves whipped cream so he sprayed some in my son's mouth and in his own when they realized it was quite beyond expiration 🤣🤣🤣 I always return items I don't want right away. It gets expensive keeping Amazon items! Great video!!

Girl, I realized I don't like lipstick during the pandemic. I just use ointment as skin care now and I'm much happier! As for planners, I have a dot matrix journal and it's super versatile.

I always take any unused meds to a pharmacy. They will dispose of them for you.

to get rid off stuff, is one thing, and a good one , but to buy less and don't waste energy and resources is a better one and the main goal

One thing that covid did for me is I went from having a makeup “collection” and spending 30 mins every morning😊, to only a mascara and a lip balm. I never thought this would be me but now I can’t imagine going back. I credit the mask wearing to breaking the habit.

In case no one said this: You can trash medications at certain pharmacies, some can be flushed but check with FDA.gov for that list.

Love your ideas! I'm currently doing a declutter just like this! I couldn't believe how many food things I had to let go of due to expiration dates, as I'm typically pretty on top of it. Also, I went through a tote full of random house things and was able to nearly empty it! Feels so good to create some space in my home.

I need to go through most of the 23 things! My state just banned textiles from the trash so I'll need to bring a load to the textile drop off. Textiles include un-donatable shoes, clothes, shower curtains, purses, and a lot else. I've been waiting for the 5th Carla. Thanks.

Take old magazines to a doctors office or library, animal shelters love to get pet pari finalisa and towels or blankets. You can cut up old clothes for rags.

Thankyou...motivated now!!! Not sure if this will help you avoid freezer burn...once I have opened a bag of frozen veg, I put the open bag into a clear zip lock plastic bag. That way, I can see what the vegetable is, stops peas and beans falling out into the bottom of the freezer drawer plus the zip lock protects veg from being open to freezer burn. I'm surprised you had that much! It only takes a short time for you to do a reset. That's My whole motivation for decluttering! It seems my decluttering is a never ending process.

😅 I gotta get to my makeup drawer & accessories (again) I will do it tonight. I have a bag of Bobbie pins (I know right?) in there and some glosses that are old 🙃 that need replacing. ❤ I declutter the fridge weekly since mine is so small. I wipe it down with a Clorox wipe every week. Kitchen gadgets done ✅ I have a little paper clutter in a basket that could use shredding…let me get up and get to it since tomorrow might be busy for me…let’s get it ladies ❤

Hi Carla. Good to see a new video. You are so down to heart and fun to watch. You inspire me in my own journey. I’m a widow, mother of two teens that will soon be out to college. I’m a dog owner too. Your Samson is so cute. All the items you mentioned, I’m tackling myself. I just treated myself to a garage makeover for my birthday. A company redid my floors. I emptied my whole two car garage. It forced me to go through everything. I think I had gotten rid of about 2/3 of the entire garage. We do park two cars inside. I feel so accomplished. Your channel is very inspirational. I got up & started straightening up my daughter's room since she away at school that I'm using as a temporary catch-all for xmas stuff. When I go in there I just jot in quickly because of how much xmas stuff is in there. I can't wait until xmas to declutter by default 🤣🤣🤣. Xmas is my jam but this obsession can be overwhelming at times. Knowing it'll all be clear in a few weeks brings me so much joy.

I just love watching you because I can relate to you so much. I am also a condiment hoarder 😂. I did clean out my fridge because I was getting a new one after 12 years. Also, went through my medications/supplements and spices. You are so inspiring. My real challenge will be my sideboard which is stuffed with paper and a lot of recipes I tore from magazines. I can’t let go of them because one day I will want to make them😂Slowly trying to declutter fantasy items.

Are you able to unhook the strap on the bag to put another on? I had this issue and found a bag at a thrift store for 4 bucks because I liked the strap but I’ve also seen straps for sale online just by themselves. Great advice! Good luck to everyone decluttering!

Purse straps! I have a great black leather strap from a purse I donated years ago. It is my go to when I need to break out a new purse. I also have a wide strap which is comfortable for traveling.

Dang! Was just about to finish cleaning my kitchen (started yesterday then got sidetracked) when this video showed up. So now I'm going to make my 3rd cup of coffee and watch this video, THEN get back to work LOL

Yea and what’s crazy is this is all stuff I had last time I decluttered!! I just wasn’t ready to let go of these things back then. But you’re right it is a lifestyle where ya gotta do quarterly touch up’s :)

I feel the same way about lipstick. I keep wanting to like wearing it- but it just doesn’t work for me. I do the same with gloss and lip liner.
