This man is awesome. I have gotten the opportunity to work out with him and in three months, he taught me his technique on the bench and my max went up 50 pounds.

Amazing. This guy squats with weight like that and goes all the way down for a full squat. That's what you call a full squat with tremendous weight. Great respect for this man.

For all the Kirk fans, here is some long lost home video that we just posted of him. At first glance his thickness at the time (1994) is almost shocking. Check it out here kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6eYxNd6p7vQfNY.html

Is this not the strongest, deepest squat ever? The best I have seen. Do a quick utube search for SQUATPRECISION. For everyone other than Capt. Kirk, this develops your absolute maximum pound, legal depth, one rep squat .

That is true. He would definitively been strong without the roids as well. But instead of squating 440 kg, me might have squatted 380 or something like that. That is still really really good squatting considering the fact that the gear wasn't that effective those days.

@kwstas67 I squat below parallel. Have done for 26 years, no problems. As far as legs in bench, just put force down through the floor under your feet, but don't raise your ass off the bench, that's all.

Just because you have small legs, doesn't mean you have hate on those that don't. Maybe we like taking an hour to find one pair of 40 inch waist,(when mine is 32) to fit our legs. Ever think of that?

I agree with everything except the big legs, i can see you wanting big muscular legs but kirk mentions you have to grease up before you run or your thighs rub eachother raw. Not to mention having to get tailor made pants to fit your legs, say goodbye to nice jeans or suit pants. Legs like that your pants will have a 50in waste. Rather be small and strong, more efficient.

I don't think the gear really makes that much of a difference. Anyone who makes strength gains with weights trains hard. Sure; a lot of lifters might use steroids so they can train harder and lift more; but it's really the training. Day in day out lifters make sacrifices to train as training is almost like a job.

  • @TheTrueFortress

Kirk's a legend. One of the all-time best squatters, period. I am leaving in a few minutes to compete in my third meet and have been watching squat videos for inspiration. No one who has not competed should speak a negative word about guys like Kirk, as athletes. I don't know the man, but certainly as a strength athlete he is utterly amazing. As far as the whole "rat" thing, unless you TRULY know the deal, don't spread unfounded rumours. It's not fair.

Come on, gear does add lots, BUT you still have to unrack and walkout 440kg, the gear doesn't help you do that. Same as benching, you still have to be able to handle the bigger weights. The CNS takes a beating too.

You should get the facts straight. After Kirks "friends" were busted, Kirk went on to post his best toatal and squat while working out at MAC, including a 1000x2 Squat. Kirk is not a rat, maybe you should look at Scott Werner, Mr. 550 Bench at 165lb. He was definetely a liar and cheat and had to move to CA after ratting everybody. If you do not know the whole story you should not start rumors! I guess we will have to agree to disagree...
