Kirby Star Allies ReTranslation
Every single bit of text in Star Allies, combed over for accuracy.

Boss pause descriptions, Dream Friend descriptions, mode and world descriptions, and Dialogue especially are retranslated from scratch with extreme care.
Most Guest Star Helper descriptions and many ability descriptions are also retranslated from scratch. So now you can see the lore in pause screens in-game!
And as stated, all other text has been combed through for mistranslations and omissions and improved, edited, and/or rewritten from scratch if necessary.
This includes names of things such as stages, modes, theatre; the names and controls of attacks for every ability and Friend; system messages and tutorials; in-game tips; miscellaneous option and button labels, etc.
Unfortunately, I did not get to check over nearly as much of this mod in-game as I wish I could have, so I suspect there'll be a handful of things I'd instantly want to improve when I see them in-game, in terms of wording and/or line-breaking and spacing. But I needed to get this out.
"But why?"
Star Allies is undeniably the most poorly translated modern Kirby game. The dialogue in the story is made incredibly cheesy and hammy, the pause descriptions are riddled with mistakes and contradictions with even the basic premise of the game's events, and even the system messages incorrectly describe the game mechanics, such as claiming Kirby's classic design as a reward for completing all celebration pictures rather than for beating Soul Melter EX.
If you were wondering why even knowing all that, it's true that in the past I've told people who asked, both in general or specifically me, why there aren't any fan translation patches, that Kirby simply doesn't need them; since most of Kirby's text is contained in descriptions unconnected with the gameplay anyway, there's no need for fan translations to actually be modded into the game, when that adds very little benefit compared to just looking the translations up. Plus, Kirby's modding community is small even for Nintendo series and tiny compared to PC games, so creating a mod would not successfully spread knowledge of mistranslations.
And I do still believe that. This retranslation patch is done more so because I can rather than because there was a great need for it to exist or benefit to be derived. Though it is also the case that Star Allies, along with Planet Robobot, does have a notable body of text within gameplay with the Mages' dialogue (And similarly with Susie in PR) compared to other Kirby games, so the argument above about its unnecessity is weaker.
Now, please keep in mind, there is no objectively right answer when it comes to translation. Nor do I guarantee that there are no errors in translation that I've made myself within this mod. All text is entirely translated by my one person. I've certainly referenced other translations people have posted themselves or in places like Wikirby, as have I spoken to other Kirby translators for their thoughts and opinions throughout the years and even directly when making this. But in the end all this text is still nearly entirely my work alone, and there could be conflicting interpretations of text or opinions on how things should be handled. Do not take this mod's text as the end all be all 'correct translation' over anyone else's translation.
Now, on the other hand, rather than translation errors, I hope that there are no errors of any other kind, such as typos, poor or broken formatting, misplaced or accidentally omitted text, or inconsistent translations for repeated terms and/or sentences. The opposite of this would be a Gaslight Mod where all the text (and music track names) are randomly changed for the purpose of spreading misinformation (now everyone shall know the boss theme as "V.S. That Tree Guy Again")
I like how they're even more evil.
Now the unused Damnit animation makes a lot more sense to me.
I tried doing retranslation mods for my language. The issue is that doing them for the newer games are way harder to test and english fantranslations to act as a base are harder to come by. And older releases(Example, RtDL boss descriptions) just suffer from space limitations imposed by the software and it utterly ruins any real plans of doing it(One could presumably romhack the limitations out somehow, but I cannot because I am a translator, not a romhacker). Even just trying to fantranslate Dream Collection from the official english(Something I will have to finish and release at some point) was a pure mess with corners cut everywhere and Magolor's dialogue flowing out of the textbox.(Though ironically, the game at other points was so lax and overprepared that it allowed me to add details the official product missed, like first airdate of Right Back at Ya.)

Yea, trying to fit the text to the limited space can be rough! I have a friend who was trying to do a Portuguese translation of Return to Dream Land before the Deluxe version was announced with Portuguese support.
This is amazing, great job! It's quite cool to read this during in-game footage.
My jaw dropped at Hyness mentioning Dark Matter by name. I love this. Excellent work.

Yeah i would say the english localizors didnt know who dark matter is after all void and zero are both called nil (which means zero) in japanese

@@sectraaaaaa I think I started on the 16th, so about a week and a half! But of course, that was with me already having translated all the boss and Dream Friend descriptions and then some in the past. Those probably took nearly 2 months added together when I initially did them, and I've spent quite a lot of time throughout the years going back and revising them every so often. I started translating Star Allies descriptions back in late 2019!
Flamberge got sent to Shadow the Hedgehog and came back 1:40

I think nothing will ever take the cake for the most absolute dog shit translation as the normal Morpho knight description of star allies. It's honestly impressive how terrible and wrong everywhere that one is

As opposed to lines like "...Bonjam. That's how we greet people on MY planet.", or "But I do not wish to waste my time with pointless chatter. So I won't!", or "Now you must face Flamberge! That's ME!", or "I'll scorch you to such a degree that...that... even tasty, toasty marshmallows will seem like ice cubes compared to you!", or "I'll turn this pink ball of nice into a frozen block of ice" or "I'll turn you into a burning ball of meddlesomeness" or "Please disappear forever", or- Oh excuse me I'm basically posting the entire original script because it's all entirely stilted and terrible. I suppose being better than it isn't a high bar to pride in then.

Hey I have a question can you do my video request? I’ve always wanted a harder version of void maybe called voidless, voidfull, voidark or void ex with a red ball or black ball instead of the white with rainbow cracks I was thinking like what if when he splits into 4 instead he splits Into 6! Or a new attack where he laughs and the spikes come out but he does it fast and does it in the same place as landia’s laser attack! Or when he does his lasers you have to stay in like a certain 10 pixels on the screen or you get damaged! In fact I had a dream where there was a harder void where he was all blue and filled with water… yeah that was a weird dream but in my dream the fight never happened so all I can do is picture a harder version of void in my mind but I’ve seen the videos you’ve made and that’s why I think you can make the harder red void! (Also I guess marx can stay there too) can you do it?
How come Zan partizzane followed Kirby and not Flamberge, francisca, dedede, magolor or his friends?!🤨
