Watched your video, and thought "ahaa !! that's my problem" I raced out to get a pressure switch and couldn't get one anywhere, then just by luck they had them in "Autobarn" However, when i pulled my compressor apart, I didn't HAVE a pressure switch ! Someone in here said that they "upgraded" the pressure on the later models to a solid state affair, so that stuffed me. Now it's either buy a new one,Maybe NOT a double thumper from Kings, or look for something better.it was just out of warranty and hardly used, so they probably aren't the best option.

Same here, no pressure switch in mine!

I have the new Dual Thumper max 2, only used 4 times now it won't turn off, I've contacted them , no response , any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix, thinking it might be the inbuilt pressure switch.

Could be the pressure switch, its supose to turn off at 120psi unless its leaking air somewhere. Deff do a warrenty claim, its web bassed i think.

Hey mate. As far as I can tell. These compressors are quite good mechanically? But fairly easy to modify the electrics for reliability. Do you agree?

Mine's barely 2 years old and same issue. They've updated the pressure switch to a solid state version but the hose between the sensor and the screw busted. That old mechanical switch looks more robust and yet it failed. I wonder if I get a replacement how long it will last. It really hasn't had a lot of use and always stored in shed when not in use.

Just bypass the switch all togeather to see if thats the issue first, if it is just get something around 90/110, thats 90 closed / 110 open. No part number sorry.

@@beersintheshed. well it worked like that, i had to use my car battery as it had more oomph, it ran for about 3 seconds then i stopped it, so at least it still spins, it wouldnt spin after that when i tried so not sure if that is normal, or may be a connection to the battery I used my jumper leads from the battery to the alligator clips. anyway it is probably worth going forward, there is a video of mods where the guy takes off all of the electronics and uses a continuous 300a relay only with a pressure switch.

added a pressure switch and just tried it again and it fires up nicely and pumps air so thats a win, I have switched it off and back on again and it worked again, but not the third time so baby steps. It wont switch on again, no matter what I threaten it with.

I already had one but i just found one on ebay, 90/120 pressure switch is what you need. 90 on 120 off.

Would you know what thread it was ? I'm thinking that's my issue but I don't wanna pull it apart before buying a replacement . Also might be a silly question but how do you know which out of the two is positive and negative it doesn't matter ?​@@beersintheshed.

@@moritz1267 sorry i dont know thread size, but its easy to pull apart, i do have the old one somewhere in the shed as i saw it the other day, ill try and find it again. In regards to the positive wire which ones are you talking about?

you done everything wrong, you have to delete the circuitry inside the blackhousing, and run cable 90 amp straight from battery

If stuck on the road you can simply jump the two terminals to bypass the pressure switch. Just be mindful that you don't blow a hose after that without a pressure switch.. Got one of the black ones and first use on a 40 degree day stopped for 20 minutes after one and a bit tyres. After a couple of more uses stopped completely. Left in garage for a few years and finally pulled it apart. It has two relays and one had a bad solder. Now working but not prepared to trust it even as my backup. Bought the original Bushranger max air over 20 years ago and still going. Never even shuts down for a break. Now have a Mean Mother adventurer 4 with a remote and love it. Simple rule is don't buy cheap with must have off road equipment. If you do they perhaps carry a solder kit.
