I did not know this, this really adds even more meaning. That is one thing I've always loved about this series, no matter how many times I go back I can always find new layers of meaning to stuff I had glanced over in the past. The attention to detail is phenomenal. Stuff like pureblood heartless not leaving behind hearts when killed, but the emblems do, Roxas dual wielding Oathkeeper and Oblivion, when Xemnas talks about how Roxas has been "taken by sleep yet again".

Although her existence is retconned in later series, I wish there were some hints of her arc in KH2. But back then xion has not been conceptualized has she?

@@eriol33 The way memories work in the Kingdom Hearts series she wasn't "retconned". There was very little left after Roxas defeated her, the primary evidence left being that Oathkeeper and Oblivion are the keyblades Roxas can dual wield, and the fact that dual wielding is possible at all for Roxas and Sora is due to her existence. It's all very subtle, but for someone who's mere existence was thought to be erased entirely it's a lot. Her existence being erased is kind of like Nobodies not having hearts. It's half true. They don't have their hearts at first, but if they exist long enough they can reclaim them. For her, she was mostly erased, with only small remnants of her story existing with those closest to her.

*Roxas talking thru Sora's body* ; "It's alright, you can stop now, it's alright.... Xion." *Me starts crying like a baby*

Xion is my favorite KH character, hands down. Her story is so tragic while she's so innocent. She's the best example of the heartbreak wrought by Xehanort. This song just captures her so well. 10/10, would cry again.

Xion's story is truly touching in ways and sad, she's a really great character who deserved better! But at least at the end she's happy, isn't she? Her, Roxas and Axel have such such a sweet friendship!

Spoiler for kh3 Xion was done really well in Kingdom hearts 3. She is this idea of a fading memory in it, and only comes back as a puppet for organising 13 again. I'm glad she finally get a happy ending

I'm of the opinion that the Repkica fighting beside Saïx was just an empty replica until Sora clashed with it, accidentally injecting Xions remnants into it. Xemnas seems surprised when he sees her acting on her own, and before that moment she was using a Claymore. She was still under their control though, since she wasnt fully in the body yet, until Roxas fully woke her up and caused her to return fully and take over the Replica.

Well I'm not going to release an album in 2019 and use covers from 2013 to do it so yeah I kinda did!

This song refers so much about me Before I’m a cheerful kid that doesn’t know what future will hold and how cruel the world is Now after my parents biggest fight, I turned into a cold stone I will smile if it really makes me warm. “Remember remember please remember who I used to be” this line hit me real hard.

I used to listen to your old covers, Xion's theme in particular, for hours when I was a kid! It feels like going back in time, thank you so much for always sharing your songs on KZread

The lyrics and your singing go well together and I’m crying from how strong the feels are 😭

This gets me EVERY time. I remember the first time hearing this and the reality of Xion as a character and all that she’s interacted with and now whenever I hear the instrumental your lyrics get stuck in there and the tears come again. The chorus just fits it so perfectly...Thank you for sharing these

Xion was the most heartbreaking character ever I got so emotionally attached to her.

That was so very sadly beautiful for Xion’s. I know that she’s just a memory puppet of Sora, but I rather believe that she’s a real living person of her own, much like Roxas. Thank you, Lizz, for singing her theme of never forgetting her. Sora, for catching her and let Roxas see her through your eyes to remember while in your heart. And Vexen/Even, for creating a new replica vessel for her and bring her back to life, for her happy ending that she needs to deserve.

I forgot this song but I listened to this years ago & recently I actually got into kingdom hearts in earnest & when Xion's theme started playing in a 358/2 Days cut scene I was watching, it was suddenly like I had forgot Xion like everybody does in Kingdom hearts but the song reminded me that I had heard it before & so there was this sublime level of like perfect parallel between me & Xion & the game & I can't stop thinking abt it. So here I am 3 years after this video came out posting this. I'll be impressed if anybody ever takes note of this comment but then I guess that'd be rather appropriate huh?

Did anyone feel trapped just watching Roxas and Xion? Both Xion and Roxas always put off this weird vibe like they were sad because they knew something was missing but they never knew what. I feel like it's only ever brushed over with them. It's talked about but no one ever goes in depth so it's almost forgotten. Or the fact neither Xion or Roxas really seemed to like their whole situation working for the organization or living in TWTNW?

I got chills seeing this song in my notifications, this is the very first song I heard from you Lizz!

These covers are amazing, love the lyrics

Ironically that a character made specifically to represent another and being someone's puppet slowly became her own person and made decisions for herself, even though she was never suppose to exist in the first place and had to return back to where she belonged. We remembered her, but no one else did. Then KH III, the puppet returned. a backdoor to Sora's memories was opened. The third heart resurfaced and the shell awakened, remembering who she was. Xion returned and became herself, no longer a shell or a mirror of someone else.

Oh my god. This is utterly beautiful. At the end of KH3, I felt so bad for Xion. She just wanted to exist. She wanted to have a heart, but Xemnas and Xehanort forced it away from her. I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her, "It's ok. It's over. Your made it. Your heart is whole now."
