I remember when I was 1st introduced to KH I, I didn't like Riku b/c he was such a jerk to Sora and was a bad guy for the time being, but throughout the game's journey, he ended up having the most fleshed out, developed character arc. He became someone who got lost in the wrong path, found redemption, and overall grew into a respected, admirable character. Every experience he hurdled through made him humble and strong. I really like Riku. He's my 3rd favorite character in the series.

I also really like how his redemption wasn't just "ok, I realize I was wrong let me just throw away my past and start over". Instead it was a struggle of him accepting himself and his flaws while still fighting through those flaws. Not fighting to get rid of them, but fighting to adapt them into strengths

Riku is my favorite character

It's weird how we all have a Riku in our hearts. The boy was tempted by the shadows, casted away, unable to see Light again, and was swallowed by Darkness. He lost his identity, and instead, was filled with wrath, anger, and negativity. But after many falls, he found his way back to who he's meant to be. And you can't tell me that you don't feel that way. If you say you didn't feel what he felt, you'd be the biggest liar. No one really knows who they are, once they surrendered to Darkness, judgement, and think of themselves as an outcast, different. But it is by fighting off this Darkness that we make it into ourselves. It..gets better. It got better for Riku, then..it must get better for us, right..?

My bad, i may have been a bit harsh.

This song is really hit the Riku's story. Riku sure really care for Sora "Cast my home aside..." He do that for gain power to protect Sora. Gain a power, but his light is faded. "Stolen my light.." "You deserve so much better than this broken soul,... " Yet still Sora accepts Riku tho'. In the KH3, Riku does that again... In the fight where everyone is cast away by the shadows. I love this song.

Note, Riku did *not* cast his home away to gain power to protect Sora. He did it because he was full of evil and wanted so desperately to see the outside world that he decided to think "fuck everyone. I am the best." and ripped his world apart.

I've always loved Riku's theme and this just makes it even better

This song really sums up Riku. As you play the game you can still see that ge still doubts himself because he let himself be taken over by darkness, he us constantly trying to regain control and fight for the light even though he made mistakes he still tries to make up for it by using his experiences and the power that he gained from them to protect his friends which is at his core his most important responsibility

Riku is probably my favourite character in KH, just from the fact of what this poor guy has to go through and what he's done. He's made mistakes that he feels he can't take back, despite having friends that forgive him for what he did because they understood the situation. He went through a year of being in the shadows just to help one friend have a somewhat normal life, not even knowing if his own would be capable of being normal. He's one of the few characters to use darkness willingly while still being on the side of light.

You’ve absolutely nailed Riku’s character arc throughout the series with these lyrics. I adore this so much!!

When I first saw Kingdom Hearts, I knew that Riku resonated with me for some reason. As I got older and learned more about myself, I began to see that my path mirrored Riku's in a very terrifying manner. This song proves what I knew once and for all. In a way... I am Riku. "Why are you dressed like one of us?!" "So that my best friend can sleep in peace." I don't know why, but that line from Days really hit me hard. It symbolizes how despite everything that happened on KH1, Riku still considers Sora to be his best friend and he knew he shouldn't have let their mutual love for Kairi to tear them apart.

I've listened to the whole destiny trio I think now, and I can just feel through the lyrics how both Riku and Kairi really care for Sora. It's just my interpretation, but honestly this song just screams to my Soriku loving heart because I feel like the lyrics like "you deserve so much more than this broken soul" and "to be with you I will do what I must" refer to Riku's dedication and love to Sora, as well as the guilt he feels over what he did to Sora and everyone else in the past when he fell to darkness

It's also the line that hits me the most. But I rather interpret it as Riku never wanted to become a foe of his friends, and when he realised all his mistakes, it only affected him more.

The lyrics you wrote for Riku are perfect. They capture his entire character journey and the melancholy of his original theme, but at the end they show his desire to atone and protect his precious person. Lovely work! As someone who relates to Riku, this song means a lot for me too.

This song truly helps me relate to Riku on a deep level, as I see myself as a guardian at heart for those I love and care for first and foremost. "Cast the past into the darkness that still lies. Our destinies bound." This speaks true to my eternal love and devotion that exists in my heart for those closest to my heart. May Your Heart be Your Guiding Key. Riku truly has made mistakes, something else I can relate to as I too was blinded in the past. It left me bigoted without realizing it and took time to be the good man I always wanted to be, but couldn't see in myself at the time. Thankfully I had help from those close to me who never gave up on me, even when I felt they would have been justified to do so. Yet, Riku never gave up on righting his wrongs however he could and most importantly doing everything he could for his friends. Something I can also relate to. Riku has earned his redemption as a Redeemed Guardian, who has grown from his mistakes into wielding both light and darkness to protect those precious to him. I hope to be like him in that regard...Always. To always be worthy of those precious to me, despite my mistakes and failings.

Riku is the Best character in the KH series, a true example of redemption and understanding himself and also combined with the voice of Lizz it makes this theme a masterpiece ❤

I like Riku's outfit & keyblade in KH3!! This is the first time I listen to Riku theme with lyrics. He's a worthy Key Blade master and he doesn't let his past affect him in the present. I like the fact you get to play as him in KH3 even though it's only for a couple of boss fight's. If Square Enix makes a KH4 I know Riku would be in it!

Japanese people made this game guys , japanese anime/video game culture is all about extreme level of friendship, that would be perceive for romantic love here in Occident . Zack And Cloud from FF7 Crisis Core were the same . Riku was in love with Kairi in KH1 but kept his feelings aside for his bro Sora.

I always loved the Kingdom Hearts games. Since the game introduced Riku, I already knew somehow I resonate him in some ways. As the games kept on continuing I saw things that related to me as well. Riku have Sora as his best friend, his light to say it like this. And Sora forgives Riku for what he's done and helped him to the path of light. I have someone like Sora as well, and I'm still greatful to have a friend like that. The Kingdom Hearts games did open me up for some reason to understand myself, and I will always love the games

I....I’m crying....I can’t stop....this song truly resembles Riku’s hardships. From his turnover to darkness to his atonement to return to light...the fact he was meant to be a keyblade master is now clear....and the more I play this song, the more it reminds me: “Our darkhorse has grown into such a gallantly stallion.” 😭😭😭

This song is just... so beautiful gah. It perfectly gives off all the guilt and doubt that Riku still experiences. I love this so much!!

Been listening to the kingdom hearts theme songs for about several months and this one hits the feels all the way through. The way that you understand each of the characters story and there plights and what they ultimately stand for love it.

Riku is a complex character and with lyrics to Riku's Theme is a nice touch and feel what Riku has been feeling within his heart and the darkness being cast into the light and with the feeling of being handed down with a Keyblade and losing it and then regaining the power and becoming a Keyblade Master. Your voice and the complex style of Riku clashing is simple and clean 😋. Please make more music and continue to The Way to Dawn.

I honestly hope he gets it. Sure, we have chain of memories, and DDD. (I'm not counting his playable parts in 2 or 3 because we barely get to play as him.) But CoM and DDD were not exactly my favorites. I want him to get a purely solo game with the KH2/KH3 play style

Lizz, let me just tell you. Your voice is beautiful. These lyrics are perfect, I have loved all of your KH lyric covers. They truly catch all the emotions that they should. I was listening to your Aqua cover one time while playing 0.2 and the emotions just... They brought me to tears.
