Roxas is a deeply moving character. While far too many people hate on the prologue of Kingdom Hearts II, I would restart files again and again solely to play the prologue as it's a deeply moving, tragic story and mystery. It's good he and his friends finally got their long awaited happy ending.

So, first off, I love this song. Second, I think the line "Caught in between the light and darkness" is kinda genius considering he wields two keyblades (Oathkeeper and Oblivion), which are symbolic of/made of pure light and pure darkness respectively.

Sora: "Just hold up, who are you?" Roxas: *takes off his hood and turns to Sora* Sora: "You're Roxas! How can you be here? Am i dreaming?" Roxas: *shakes his head no slowly* Sora: "Come on say something." Roxas: "This could of been the other way around, but it really has to be you." Sora: "what do you mean?" Roxas: "There are so many hearts connected to yours, you're me. So you can feel what i felt." Sora: "No..Roxas your you. We're not the same. you deserve to be your own person as i do. I wanted to tell you that." Roxas: *he is taken back what sora said then smiles* "Sora see thats why it has to be you." *he grabs sora wrist and shares the rest of his memory to sora.* Sora: "Not again...Did they cause all this pain? What you do you want me to see!" *Riku in the back ground* :Sora you gotta wake up Sora! I cried when i saw that scene. When Sora said that to Roxas, Roxas being taken back being said Roxas is his own person, I also relaizined when Sora saw Namine, Roxas was seeing Xion, hence why when the camera turns to show Xion, its Roxas heart that made Sora cry seeing Xion. And questioning. "Why am i?". Roxas saying "You're me so you can feel what i felt." Roxas remembering Xion death. which to me is still one of the saddest if you know when he says "Who else will i have ice cream with?" in Roxas time in the ORG Axel told Roxas that Friends hang out and eat ice cream together. So that what the line means Cause to Roxas Hanging on the clock tower and eating ice cream was that trios friendship to Roxas. (edit) Thank you for over 200 likes. :D

Roxas has the best stories of all the characters in the game. Grinding through 358/2 was an awesome experience. You really got to feel the hardships and got to experience Roxas's character. You also had to somehow beat dumb bosses like The Ruler of the Sky :/

Well this is certainly a nostalgia trip. I would have never thought your original cover was your first time writing lyrics. I think we've all grown up from those younger days of youth, but Roxas' theme-his Other Promise-still resonates sorrowfully. The pain of not knowing why you exist, the pain of feeling worthless, the pain of knowing no one cares that they only act like they do because of social obligations. They all hurt. Per Coded, never forget the hurt because there is always people still hurting.

I cried when I first heard this on Spotify. The 'so if I'm gone, no one will miss me' really hits hard bcs Roxas is clearly loved by his friends but he himself can't see that and I really can't imagine living like that...

That scene is just so sad. A lot of people think it's really silly, that Roxas's best friend is dying, and all he can think about is ice cream. But to Roxas, it was so much more. He had no memories of his time as Sora, due to Sora getting his heart back after Kairi revived him. Therefore, he never knew friendship. All he knew was what Axel told him; that friends talk, and eat ice cream, and laugh about the stupidest stuff. To him, that was friendship. So he's not really asking "who else will I have ice cream with?" He's really saying "who else will I be friends with," which just makes his story even sadder.

Such a beautiful song! I showed it to my friend and she thought that this really captures his character. We both especially loved the end how it felt unfinished, it just stops. The abrupt end felt like there was more to be said. Roxas truly was a character who's book was closed long before the story had begun.

When I played days, I enjoy the game and story........until I had to fight Xion, I never forget the day I had to hurt someone I grow close to, I cried in tears, and I felt Roxas's pain, and during the final mission, I felt like I was Roxas, upset at the organization and I literally say, with tears in my eyes and angry expression like I was yelling at riku.."I want my life back, I WANT XION BACK". Now that's how you make a really developed character.
