The charm of these little moments was incredibly missed in KH3. It seemed trivial, optional quests, side-plot or whatever but if KH3 had this we'd love the game so much more in spite of other flaws.

Kingdom Hearts 3 didn’t have any of the Final Fantasy cast until the DLC but for some reason Cloud wasn’t even in there either. I think Cloud and Sephoroths story is something that transcends Kingdom Hearts in a way that it also relates to the main Final Fantasy VII story, in Advent Children Sephiroth tells Cloud “I will never be a memory” and lo and behold Cloud is chasing him all over Kingdom Hearts’ universe, it seems like an alternate universe story happening behind Kingdom Hearts’ main plot, but might become relevant.

There better be a Cloud vs Sephiroth fight in Kingdom Hearts 3. Shit feels like a tradition.

Yep, seeing them both in Smash is awesome! They can battle to their heart’s content! ^^ And Sora can try to kill Sephiroth in the process, that’d be fun! ^^

I feel like Sora connected the most with the FF characters so it was really sad to learn they weren't in 3. Hope they bring them back somewhere in the future. Plus, Hollow Bastion was such a cool world.

I still don't understand why Cloud wants to kill Sephiroth in the KH series. In FF7, Sephiroth was going to destroy the entire planet; that's why Cloud had to beat him. But in KH? It's all this ambiguous "I have to defeat you in order to get rid of the darkness." Why can't the two of them go out for drinks and get along? It's not like Sephiroth is picking fights with anyone...

It's implied that Sephiroth is part of Cloud in this incarnation and not a separate being entirely. For Cloud, Sephiroth existing probably is tantamount to every aspect of Cloud's inner darkness constantly haunting him and never allowing him to be at peace.

studster87 you are really missing out. Kingdom Hearts may be half Disney, but the adventures and grand story are amazing!

I realize now that they gave Vincent's character design to Cloud in KH1

I realize that most Final Fantasy characters appear in the Olympus Coliseum like Zack Fair in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

I just can't believe that a Final Fantasy character, Cloud Strife, a character from a different universe collides with the Disney universe.

@DesTroyazoid Canonically,Cloud killed the real Sephiroth in "Crisis Core" but his evil spirit used the JENOVA Cells he was created with to turn a number of individuals into "clones"(Not physical replicas mind you,that would be the Sephiroth Remnants who come 2 Years Later resulting from Sephiroth diffusing into The Lifestream becoming a sickness upon the planet like his "mother" before him(This sickness is called Geostigma and primarily effects children though adults are not immune as demonstrated by Rufus Shinra,Cloud, and poor men in the Midgar EDGE area and Sector 5 and 7 slums) just people infused with his will via parts and alien cells of JENOVA his "mother" who can also shapeshift into him in order to walk in the human world undetected).Cloud was one of those individuals.Of course,that`s much too convoluted for a Disney game for kids so they just say that Sephiroth is Cloud`s inner darkness and leave it at that.

To simplify what Child said, Sephiroth is a haunting memory of Cloud's past, living on through Jenova cells in his body. This Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth seems to be a physical embodiment of his own troubled past, coming to life through darkness and negativity. This is why Sora could not kill him. Sephiroth has been and continues to plague Cloud's mind in both universes, and no matter what the circumstance, the way he rids of him for good is by coming to terms with himself, literally defeating his demons.

Gio Trapani lol, I found out after recently watching Advent Children then walking through the living room and mom was watching y&r and I heard his voice. I turned and was like "dafuq?! Why do I hear CLOUD?!" saw him, turned up the volume and had the most comical "HOLY SHIT!" moment! My mom gave me the weirdest look. It was hilarious! 😂

Unfortunately I was introduced to Cloud, Tifa, CID, Leon, Aerith, Yuffie, and Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. Didn't understand back then why most people I knew absolutely despised them in this series. Now that I've watched Advent Children, played original FF7 and FF7 remake, I understand why. I cant look at them in Kingdom Hearts the same way again.

The scene with Cloud and Squall (Leon) was my favorite because those were the 2 FF games I played growing up. Although I'm in the minority in the sense that FF8 was actually my favorite of the 2. Idk I guess I liked the setting and characters more.
