aqua has suffered more only because of 2.8. apparently, nomura *was* going to have her break down (mentally) after rescuing riku. as for ventus..... it depends on how union x turns out. and terra..... no. fuck no..

That moment when Sora says what all Roxas's fans wish they could tell him.

And THIS right here is why Sora is probably my favorite character. He's not perfect, he's not the strongest, he's not even that smart, but he cares about people so much. He does what he does simply because he wants other people to be happy, and I find that down right inspiring.

Jesse McCartney is fan-fucking-tastic he gets across beautifully a character that is no less than the universe's punching bag that only ever wanted answers to his existence and his own being but can never get it. I hope he gets it in 3

"You deserve as much as I do to be your own person." "That's why it has to be you." I think why I like this line in particular is that Roxas is explaining why he isn't the hero. When Roxas heard that he could sacrifice himself to save another he fought against it while Sora won't hesitate for an instant to save a life. Roxas looks up to Sora so much. Sora is literally the version of himself who can make the decisions Roxas wishes he could.

I mean Roxas’ life was never about saving someone. He was told he is a Nobody and his job is to collect Hearts so all Nobodies could be whole. Unlike Sora who is told he is the Keyblade wielder who would save the world, Roxas never had that responsibility. That’s why Roxas’ purposes is to be his own person and just be happy with friends. They have no family nor friends to go to, but they do have a place they’d like to be. So I like his purposes in life which is just so pure.

When Roxas shows Sora his pain, basically any new KH fan having the series explained to them

@@Bleezyyyys Terra and Aqua were never too far away despite the circumstances. Same with Mickey Donald, Goofy, and Yen Sid. Heck even Sora when he saved him established a connection that was always there no matter what. Everything got taken from Roxas and he was told that he has no right to exist. That he was a "mere tool at best" who had to return to "where he belongs". No beach, no sunsets at the tower, no fulfillment of his true potential, no friends. Ventus always had lights waiting to help him. The only light Roxas had and lucky him was Sora. Most people would have moved on after being whole again but Sora knew that Roxas was more than a copy of himself.

1:25 The amount of sadness, anger and despair in Roxas's memories traumatized Sora so much that he was struggling to control them

Seeing Roxas just slightly smile at Sora while he experiences all of that grief is... Idk. It just hits hard...

Notice that when Roxas appears at the beginning of the scene, Sora is wearing his signature KH2 outfit. However, after Roxas disappears, Sora is back to the X-marked outfit he wore throughout the game. I think that's Roxas trying to lend Sora a hand with his situation.

Definitely. Roxas would have said something like, “I’m sorry, but I’ll need your body for a little longer. There’s still things I need to do. People I need to protect.” He wouldn’t have given up his life after what he went through, (and who could blame him?) but Sora offered it without question.

Roxas had contempt for Sora at first because his existence revolved around him and felt Sora was taking everything away from him when it was really DiZ, and the Organization who played all the games with Roxas. Once he finally met Sora, Roxas realized that Sora is nothing like that and wasn't responsible for everything that happened to him and losing his existence. If anything Sora was just as if not more confused about the whole thing but still only saw Roxas as a person who has a right to life, strength and happines. This connection saw them through the events of KH3 and Roxas returning to the realm of light where he belongs.

Jesse McCartney does an incredible job with Roxas and Ventus. Ventus is sweet and innocent, but you can always hear pain under Roxas' voice.

I know people will give DDD shit but this is actually one of the bests scenes

I think Sora is going to start caring for Roxas as his own brother. Think about it. Both of them had a deep desire to meet the other before they found out who they were. And now, especially after witnessing all of Roxas' memories, Sora is desperate to save him. I think in KH III Sora and Roxas are gonna become really good friends. And when you consider their literal relationship,like Brothers even.

I mean, getting Roxas was the objective for the first chunk of the game and that one scene in SanFranTokyo shows how Roxas has been an important connection to Sora, and Re:Mind when they are in each other's thoughts being how Roxas got to the Keyblade graveyard. They may have not been able to act like friends, but the bond was there, Sora was just trying to help friends out/ save Kairi and weren't given time to talk.

Absolutely love Roxas, easily my favorite character of the series. Such a tragic but memorable character. He inspires me to always never lose sight of who I really am, no matter how confused or lost I may become.

This is why Sora is my favorite character in whole franchise. He cares about others and willing to save those who are in so much pain. I wish I meet someone like Sora. It’s really impossible to find someone as pure heart as Sora.

Roxas is definitely my favorite character of all time.. can’t wait for kh3 🗝✨

Roxas really lived up to Xion's ideal which is to do something which is best for everyone.

Sora is right, Roxas deserves to be a person of his own than to be Sora's nobody, because although he is a nobody, he shows to have feelings like any real person, for me that he has returned in kingdom hearts 3 now as a person with a life of his own, he has me given tremendous joy for him.

This scene is incredibly brilliant in two ways. One of lays out the two definitions of self that Kingdom Hearts has explored. Both are true, “You’re me, so you can feel what I felt.” “No, Roxas you’re you… you deserve as much as I do to be your own person.” And then the fact that ROXAS is the one making the case for the collective sense of self, Mr. “I am me, nobody else.” And SORA is the one arguing that Roxas is a separate self. It’s a fantastic summary of Kingdom Hearts exploration of Self.

It explains what Roxas understood, when he looked down at the heart station when battling sora.

No matter what Roxas will always be my number 1 favorite character in Kingdom Hearts

This is the main reason why I always love Roxas, he is so complicated and yet.... Loveably character person. I watched the full gameplay of every KH seasons since last year, I will never forget it from the bottom of my heart

*Spoilers* The symbology of what Roxas said, after playing KH3, is even more painful. Roxas, though technically speaking is the other half of Sora, as Vanitas is Ventus' actual other half. Sora's frustration of not getting through to Vanitas is something that he, almost feels responsible for given that he can talk to Roxas. But Roxas isn't his dark half, just his half. So, maybe in some crazy way, yes, this could have been the other way around. But due to Sora's inherent, and often blinding good, it really does have to be Sora.

I think what gets me the most about this scene is how utterly broken Sora becomes once Roxas' memories become his own. He shudders, twitches his eyes, sighs brokenly as if he's about to cry. This is a new perspective he wasn't able to see in 2, and he understandably does not know how to react. And when he does react, he's still confused: "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SEE???"

Aww see Sora really does feel legitimately sorry that Roxas could never be his own self.

Roxas at this point had accepted his fate. As one half of the person that would save the worlds. Beliving that his sole existence was just to destroy this world, and here comes Sora sweet innocent Sora. Sora the boy who gladly took the pain of a boy several hundred years old. Who saw his friends disapear infront of him and decided to help without question. essentially told him no your existence matters

This scene right here , is a good summary of why he had to be in smash

The name of this cutscene is misleading, because, as we all know, Roxas is forced into a constant state of grief, no matter the time.

Coming back here and reading all these comments of Roxas fans (I hope/assume) like me before 3 came out is really something. Will always be my fav KH character.

This cutscene made me incredibly emotional.

There's a good dark fanfic called "Twilight Will" in which he refuses to return to Sora. Sora is my favorite character... But I was very proud of Roxas for fighting to claim a future of his own design. Because that is how you know you're a living being. Any less, and you just happen to be a toy that breathes. And besides, a battle hardened soldier ? Forget emo Riku (yes, I'm aware I should have more empathy for him given what he went through), this is the dark badass opposite of the optimistic protagonist I wanna see.

“Am I dreaming?” The irony

The muffled dialogue from Riku at the end of the scene trying to wake Sora up sends chills down my spine every time (the subtitles do kill the mood a bit on that, though.) Honestly KH3D TWTNW has some of the best cutscenes in the series. The writing and voice acting in this world was fantastic. It’s just a shame the rest of the game wasn’t written this well.

I fear in my fic, there is truly only one way to keep the Nobody teens fully free. Magic doesn't justify half of what happened during that year. Not Riku. Not DiZ. Not Xemnas. They are deluded children. I must free them. Sora already went ahead, going to Quadratum alone. But there's nothing wrong in exploring alternative timelines in which salvation comes earlier.

"Sora see? Thats why it *has* to be you." Yknow Sora always bugged me as a Protagonist. He isnt really smart, cool and he can be really childish. However his simple nature of wanting everyone to be happy is what i think makes him a good protagonist. It may be childish, ridiculous or even hypocritical how he thinks, but thats fine.

I don't know why but I love that scene It both makes me happy and ... makes me sad

Damn I got a lump in my throat watching this, way too many feelings watching this. XD

Now we just need a scene like this, but with Xion, so I can get some closure.
