As well as Arnie - who, I’ve recently discovered is literally a stroppy mare - I think Indigo is a contender in the nibbler stakes. Although, if he’s that way out, he really means business - the ears go back and he lunges at tourists he takes exception to. Although the guard tends to keep him on a short reign when he’s having a strop I think, if he got the chance, it wouldn’t be just a nibble - he go for what the sign says he may do & bite.

The horse had given her several clear warnings, but she thought it was hilarious and kept squealing with laughter while going back for more. I'm glad she wasn't badly hurt in the fall, but I'm afraid it was entirely her own fault that she fell.

This is nice horse, not trying to keep people away. On the contrary, he appears to like the attention and even more is hoping someone might have a treat for him and so he is checking with everyone in hopes of finding a treat. The bad thing is, horses like this do get nippy, not out of meanness but more out of frustration eventually. He does become somewhat anxious as people start crowding in but ultimately, he is just a nice and playful horse from what I see but the mugging for treats is concerning.

@@kathellison8084 Did we watch the same video? Lol! I rewatched beginning to end, just to see if I missed something. The first reassuring pat/rub in this video is at the 6:01 mark as he directs the horse to back up, to which the horse responds accordingly and the guard rewards him with his rub on the neck. There was another direction given by the guard at 8:25 and another rewarding pat for the horse responding. In 8 1/2 minutes you have only 2 pats / rubs given for a reward, not necessarily reasurrance. At 10:55 the horse is turning his head sharply to the left, into the box and the guard rubs the opposite side of his neck, not for reassurance but most likely to get the horses attention back forward, which he does and the guard stops. So far, the count is 3 times in almost 11 minutes and at none of these times was the horse ever stressed, not even playing with a rainbow colored fuzzy ball. At 16:55 is the actual first time the rub appears to be a reasurring/calming gesture because the horse had begun to become somewhat anxious with the increased crowding. At 18:01, is the next moment but as with the first 2 times, the guard had directed the horse to back up, the horse complied but then immediately moved to go forward and the guard asked him to stop and the horse complied, earning the reward of a rub on the neck. So 5 events of that, only 1 of the events is most likely for reassurance hardly constitutes constant reassuring. What the guard is constantly doing is micro managing the horses movement as it searches for treats. He does not want the horse to walk too far out of the box or from one side to the other, that is what can be considered constant but that is not for reassurance due to stress. That horse for the most part, is happy with the attention.

Surely even a lovely guard and horse must sometimes be thinking we are tired of these human horses and their horsey behaviour , can we go home now ?

Our whole family loves this guard. His calmness with which he controls the horses and persistent people at whom he never shouts, only strongly warns, simply wow.

Lovely to see the rider pat his horse…. I’ve watched many of these videos, and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen a horse praised by the rider. Such a lovely horse too…wanting to connect with the people! Horse is happy and confident… he knows his rider is pleased with him😍

Beware if a horse pins its ears and strikes like a snake. I worked with racehorses & a young stallion grabbed a woman by her breast, lifted her off the ground & shook her violently. Needless to say she had to go to hospital. If a horse won’t stand still & is throwing their head & mouthing ….. look out their about to blow. I worry about kids standing in front of the horse because when they spook they usually go forward first, up second & backwards last. Usually. But they do have a mind of their own & young ones can be unpredictable. Please be safe.

When did that kid, go from giggling to crying Its a toy, i was more concerned over the horse I thought this kid was a lot younger, but she isnt a baby\toddler Is the mum to blame, i dont see how, she was close to her, to grab if anything went wrong Seen a lot worse parents, than this mum 3 excited, screaming kids, bright toy, of course the horse is gonna be intrigued, horse did nothing wrong Think the only thing that mum needs to do, is tell her kid to grow up alittle I dont want it anymore, really Ok if she was pram age, toddler could reason with that Thankgod the horse is ok, amd he\she spat it out 😂

Sorry this is a long one, disclaimer: I am not part of JSO, ( not a boy band ), I cannot be held responsible for eye strain while reading this, I love our tourists while they are here and I am not racist by any means shape or form. Oh and it’s my computers software that is causing the spelling an grammatical errors. Okay so if you are a tourist who’s come to London see tje sights and the horse and guards and you see yourself on this channel, please take a moment to reflect on how exactly you must look to everyone else watching. I am happy to welcome anyone to our beautiful country who wants to immerse themselves in the customs and architecture of old. But the people who come here and are downright disrespectful, you know who you are, watch how you let your kids behave, teachers from abroad, ask for some health and safety and safeguarding training along with a few history lessons. I know we have our own people who don’t behave and thinks that their children can do nothing wrong, but you are visitors. I would never dream of coming to France and make a mockery at military on guard or stand and stare at anyone in your country, who’s working to keep tour freedom and safety paramount, as for the men on black hats with pigs tails, which I understand there is a reason for wearing their hair in piggy tails but I would stand and stare as they rock back and forth at the wall. It’s their custom or faith and if I were to go there which I doubt I would give them space and not just stand and stare. My friend went quite a few year back and said the people from the area near the wall are very friendly apart from a few and that’s the same everywhere, just show some darn respect to the ones that don’t, by the way the woman who out her child to close to the horse, could have killed the horse, I wonder if she realises the severity of her actions, the horse could have choked and tan smock while doing so possibly injuring people while trying to breathe, it also could have swallowed a small sharp piece of plastic from whatever it was chewing and possibly caused the poor horse to have internal injuries. Keep an eye on you children woman and learn about what you could have caused, selfish isn’t even a strong enough word. If it happens again we will get the pig tailed brigade to follow you around and mock you. I know I’d prefer a pig tail hitting me in the face rather than a horses or a horses hoof up your rear end. Rant over. Stay safe everyone and I hope enjoy your stays in the UK, there is also a place here in the UK that you should visit, wistow maze, don’t take the map cos that’s cheating, that should keep you busy for a few days, take snacks and drink in if allowed just in case you find yourself in there a little longer than you thought. Happy Christmas to everyone and remember, it’s not about the presents and getting into debt, Jesus is the reason for the season, that memo seems to have been lost in a toy shop with store cards somewhere.
