Ok people, when a horse puts his ears back, he doesn't want to be messed with. He wants to be left alone. Ears back is a warning. You will probably get a bite or a kick next. You can tell most of these people have never been around horses before.

They seem to think that horses are like dogs. It's as if they're offering their hands for the horse to smell and somehow 'judge' that they come in peace, so to speak. This is obviously just my opinion, but I've paid close attention to the phenomenon and it's the only answer I can come up with. It certainly is annoying to the horse and to most viewers!

You seem to have a very myopic opinion on your idea of mental health issues. Unfortunately, unseen issues, ie, no bandages or plaster casts, frighten many because they don't know how to relate to or respond to someone whose problem is likely to challenge them in some way. You said that someone with mental health issues shouldn't be allowed out alone. Why? If you had a child who for example was autistic and had reached the age of 30, are you saying that your adult child couldn't go to work, or shopping, or visit horseguards? Are they to be a prisoner in your home, until they die? Or, maybe, now is the time to stop being afraid of people who just need to be respected. Their condition isn't their fault, and in this particular case, isn't it sad that she should be punished for just wanting to stroke a horse?

There is no reason one person should be allowed to torment a horse. There is a difference from a quick pet to feel how the horse feels and maybe the first time ever touching a horse. But to just torment the horse when he is definitively showing signs of stressful behavior, that is when the Guard should show his/her authority and say “stop, or go away, or whatever”. Good going Trooper, keep protecting your horses from these tormentors.

No frigging body comes to the conclusion that it must be so uncomfortable and annoying for the horse... And if it avoids your touch or even puts ears back, then STAY AWAY FROM THE HORSE FFS. Seriously, I'd love to see a petition for the guardsmen and their horses, that protects them from any sort of touch. Just like the guards inside, no approach within a couple of meters. That would be perfect. Why won't King Charles do that for his guardsmen? I mean, they're basically being treated like Disney characters and I feel so bad for them. ❤
