@@orangesilver8yeah played this map recently and won as all civs, Zhou is by far the easiest choice on this map, egypt 2nd, Harappans 3rd, and Myceneans 4th, Inca at 5th is barely winnable with standard victory conditions against AI, Aztecs at 6th I had to use conquest objective to win the map. Big difference in difficulty between the americans and the rest of the world, america just super sucks on this map, especially since both american powers start with a size 1 city rather than a size 2 or 3. They really should have given aztecs to the AI since its just super painful to play

​@@deeznoots6241 The Aztecs at least have some options, even if their not great. The Myceneans are the only civ marked as hard on this map, and I'd say that's well earned. They're pretty good on other maps, but their special ability rapidly becomes useless here, and they can't even focus on any particular terrain type, 'cus there's so few of each they can get before they're blocked in. They have one of the worst drawbacks to make up for the normally pretty good bonus, but on this map that bonus is rapidly gone, making the drawback even worse.

I like this game, but they need to find a sixth given how weak the AI is.

True but I really think the main issue was rythian and duncan being too placid towards their land neighbors for much of the game. Rythian especially considering he had plenty of chances to pressure daltos before he got too powerful

There's a diffuculty setting for the AI. It doesn't make it smarter, but does give it several bonuses which will generally make up for it. The real struggle in multiplayer in this game is finding a map where everyone's options are balanced. This map for example, assuming no glaring misplays, will almost certainly be won by Zhou, Egypt, or the Harappans. So no surprise here.

Or put the AI on the weakest civ, on this map the weakest civ is easily the aztecs. Or they could play a map with less civs, the smallest map in the game only has 3 civs for example

Is the editor screwing with us, switching to Ramblers POV whenever it switches over to their turn? Since they've got the Steam notifications on.

It's great seeing Alex the Rambler on here again! He's a great addition to strategy games, as well as TTT if you can ever convince him to try all your new mods XD

Always enjoy a good game of Ozymandias, surprised to see three videos for one game! Alex is always a great addition to the Civ channel and would love to see more games with him in it!

Great series, made me decide to buy it and try it out myself (its on sale for the next few days)

Plato's Critias Daltos: "a big weird ramble" BTW, there is an interesting idea that desert travelers came across the Richat Structure and presumed it had been a city. The structure is just south of the Atlas Mountains. Then that story passed into Egypt. From Egypt → Solon ↝ Critias ↝ Socrates/Plato. (There never seems to have been civilization there. But, there's no reason to assume the things people wrote they had been told about are correct. And the _full_ chain of transmission of the idea isn't documented, of course.)

Now I want to play a game of Ozymandias!

Wish the AI was a little better. Whoever spawns next to it gets a huge advantage.

Reminder that you're supposed to spin the chamber between turns in Russian Roulette. That way most games end with no deaths and no one ever has that moment where they know they've lost before they pull the trigger.

Well done to Daltos. Cool to see someone other than Lewis win. Also interesting that this game lasted into three videos. I think they should have focused on Daltos more, certainly towards the end here. He gets a crown, no one cares. He gets to four crowns, no one cares. He wins. Lewis was at least trying, but he's too far away. Rythian, and a bit from Rambler, needed to intervene against Daltos. Then on that last turn Duncan attacks Rythian and pulls him away from his front with Daltos, letting Daltos take his cities and achieve the population objective 😂😂

Not to belittle Daltos' win, but he did pick one of the most likely civs to win this map, while Rythian picked the hardest. 😅 Probably would have gone very differently if someone played the Harappans, since Egypt, Zhou, and Harappans are the three easiest civs on this map.

Heh, Duncans complaint that they both fought him at once... go back to the episode it happened in. Duncan was picking on Rhythian, and even when Rhythian backed off, Duncan made threats against him in the future. Never have sympathy for Duncan, he's like Wyrmtongue in these games.

Duncan is a real power player. If there is an advantage to be had, he will angle for it 90% of the time. Talking is part of this, he will say whatever he thinks gives him the best advantage. He's the biggest bullshitter because of this, but luckily Lewis and some are very aware of it. Makes for good content tho!

Why does Rythian always decide to go the pacifist route in every strategy game he plays. He wastes an opportunity to take Duncan out of the game over being respectful, and then gets invaded by Duncan and complains lmao

Imagine if every time they invited Daltos, they instead invited Alex. Now that would be a wonderful world.
