The echo from the theater make this even better!

I did this musical the jr one and I was muriel and when we did this it was so exciting !!!

AWWWWW IT LOOKS SO EXCITING

Amidst all the hours and hours of rehearsals these dancers had you still can't fully get your blood pumping until you have those bright stage lights hit you. THEN is when you feel the magic and true adrenaline! I see all these young men and this lady and I stand on my feet and applaud them for being true theatre nerds (which is a compliment, don't come at me lol) Although, I do wish the camera was shown from the front not the side but that's okay. You can still see the dancers fully well. And you see their hard work has paid off! I just wanted to say bravo 👏

Can they please release the cast recording?

Does anyone know why they gave Jo Jo's wooden nickel line to Ike (I think it's Ike)? As far as I can tell they didn't change it any more than that.

JoJo's never said that line, but they did give his "a solid gold watch" line to Specs. They actually gave all but one of JoJo's (very few) lines to other characters for reasons unknown :/

Assuming this is from The Troubador, why does a cameraman run through the stage?

This isn't the Troubador you can't see the band there and the stage is a different shape and colour, don't know why a cameraman runs through though.

This is a special event in Manchester where a bunch of musicals from the west end and London came to perform and they filmed it for the BBC so that’s why it’s like that. The Troubadour is in the round and it looks so much better than this set for the event

Nowhere as good as the Broadway choreo. Dancers are good and there are hints of Christopher Gatelli's choreography but this King of New York doesn't have the complexity and coherence as the original dance.

its watered down for this stage as they only have the tables not the full set and stage size is different so tracks are changed for this performance. its incredible when its in its own theatre

@@elliemcdonald2884 NY set was also limited to tables for this number. Seen many watered down numbers on smaller stages (TV mostly) but the choreo always shone through. Didn't get that from this video however, I can appreciate that it's a different experience live.

It looks so much better at the Troubadour (its London venue). The sets in the round make the dancing look incredible. It doesn’t help that this clip was filmed in Manchester

@@llc9721 its insane in the troubadour theatre, a complete different stage, parts of the choreo was taken out for this performance like the lamps that come down from the ceiling that they guys swing on in every possibly way and spin up off the tables, then the seating is mere meters from the stage in their theatre which makes it feel completely different to any theatre show I've been to
