NOTE: Do NOT use K tape over sites of active cancer, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), active skin infection, or an open wound. Be cautious about using if you have an allergy to adhesives. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
If you are experiencing pain and decreased shoulder joint stability due to shoulder subluxation, kinesio tape may be able to help. The research is mixed on its effectiveness but as long as you don’t have any of the conditions listed above, it’s usually safe to try. Kinesio tape can provide shoulder joint stabilization, mild pain relief, and help you improve range of motion so you can be more active in daily activities.

Thanks for the explicit warning this time about shaving prior to applying the kinesiotape, I've missed those on a couple of Your previous videos. I personally learned that lesson years ago the hard way, when my OT used kinesiotape to make my smile more symmetrical.

Hey Simon! That sounds so painful. I'm sorry you had that experience. Yes, I should have included that on my other two videos but I didn't realize it until making this one! Thanks for the feedback and hope you're well :)
I'm a bit curious about your anchoring direction. I was taught during my CKTP course to tape from top to down in a situation like this due to recoil action of the tape. You may want to review this and I'd love to know your findings Great video by the way, well explained
Thank you so much, this is so helpful!

@behappydaily Of course! I'm so glad ❤️
Starting from muscle insertion will inhibit the muscle, right?incase of stroke deltoid is already inhibited, so this will again inhibit this muscle,?

K tape does nothing to "inhibit muscles". This simply helps support the joint.

@@The_KZread_Critic i ve studied that if starting from inserstion it will inhibit muscle action used in cases like muscle spasm

@creativeworld7887 it does nothing. There is zero quality research to back that up. Ktape does support movement and reduce pain, but the long term benifits are no better than not using k tape at all.
Thank you very much for the video

My shoulder dis-located itself, should I continue to use the tape to prevent this from happening again ?

Hey there! Because I don't know your specific situation, I'd recommend reaching out to your doctor to double check. Kinesio tape is not something you probably want to wear forever and your doctor may recommend a shoulder brace to help with this issue! Hope this helps :)
Why do you abduct shoulder ? Why aren’t you explaining why each piece and reasoning?
Does this prevent dislocations ?

@johnathansanfilippo, Good question. Kinesio tape is meant to provide some level of support, stability, and minor pain relief to a shoulder joint that has a minor dislocation. It won't necessarily prevent a dislocation.

@johnathansanfilippo, I wish I could answer your question, but unfortunately, without some type of imaging (like an X-ray) it's hard to tell! I hope that you're feeling better, though!
thanks. 😂🎉😮😅😊
