I have a kindle paperwhite and a kindle fire 8hd. I prefer the kindle fire because it’s in color. When it comes to books with illustrations or comics , they make a huge difference because the kindle fire does show them in color while the kindle does not. Also, people talk about distractions but for me, the only distractions I have is when I’m using my phone. No other device causes me to get distracted. The kindle paperwhite also hurts my eyes because I get dizzy looking at it. I can’t explain it to make sense but the kindle fire and my phone does not do this to me.

Oh yeah! I can see the fire being good for books with illustrations or comics.

the only thing that is stopping me from getting a kindle is, it's in black and white lol. i'ma stick to the fire tablet.

I have the Kindle apps on all my devices, a Signature Paperwhite, a Fire, and a Basic Kindle. I also have the Kindle Voyage. I am waiting for the color Kindle. That’s what a lot of people say. I think I am still more engaged with a physical book in hand. It I’ve been reading from my Kindle more at night.
