KINDER SCOUT | GRINDBROOK CLOUGH | WOOLPACKS |JACOB'S LADDER | PEAK DISTRICT
Steph and I ventured up Kinder Scout in early March 2024. A moderate to challenging day hike including a grade one scramble. The scramble was located towards the top section of Grindsbrook Clough. We hiked along the plateau towards the Woolpacks, Pym Chair and Kinder Low. We descended via Jabob's Ladder and returned to our start point at Edale village. This was a circular route of approx 9 miles/14 km.

Do note, that the weather conditions can change very quickly and without warning. Kinder Scout at times, has poor visibility and is very boggy underfoot in places. Always, plan ahead, have a backup plan and make sure you have the right gear for the right situation. Conduct your own risk assessment when accessing the Peaks, as beautiful as they are, they do present hazards. Leave no trace, take your rubbish with you.

Yay Kinder Scout! What a lovely walk and I'm so glad you both had a better day of weather this time. I absolutely adore Grindbrook Clough, think it's fantastic. Looks like there were very few other walkers around too which is always a bonus. Glad you had a good brekkie. Went to the Maynard recently for a birthday bash. All the best 😃👍

The Maynard is fantastic, I’d stay there again. The walk was brilliant, enjoyable from beginning to end. Not many people about either. X
"In no rush, deliberately taking our time, enjoying the outdoors experience." The prefect walking speed when in the great outdoors in my opinion. 👍🙂

It was a good days hike, no hurry just taking our time. Thanks for watching. Have a good weekend Sog x
A well made, and enjoyable video. Thank you for making it. I live only 18 miles from Kinder, and I am ashamed to say that I have never been up there. I must really make the effort to do so when the weather improves.

Yes Steph’s backpack is huge! She’s training for a 500 mile trail in June, called the side to side. From the furthest point in the south west to the the most easterly point in Norfolk. ☺️

The grade 1 scramble is actually the right hand fork of Grindsbrook but you did the right thing avoiding it in wet conditions. Did Steph have the kitchen sink in her pack? 😅 Very entertaining as usual great to watch

@@endurance-adventures I know what you mean. I was going to do the Pennine Way back in 2020 and I actually walked all around the Peak District twice a week for 6 weeks carrying a 14Kg pack for training. Just before we were due to start lockdown started…. I shall try and find a copy of your book to motivate me to try again. Which walk are you training for?
