Sharks breathe while moving, they killed the Meg by stopping breathing, in other words they stopped him from moving which stopped him from breathing, killing the Meg. Edit: Thanks for the replies I'm indeed wrong.

Provided there is a current in the water (which there would be so close to the surface) sharks don't always need to be moving in order for water to enter their gills. Besides, nothing on earth suffocates that quickly.

The megaladon is a beast and is intense, but this movie made no sense, i get why the Meg didn’t swallow the cage because it would chock and die, but idk how he didn’t break it by biting it

For you both that don't know, the cage is designed to not break so the shark tried to swallow it (though it might choke)

My favourite actor in this film was OFC Jason statham and I loved the meg! I watched it about 20 times-

They just killed what could be the only last species of the Megalodon. Scientists are going to be PISSED.

Sharks don't have lungs, so they can't breathe in and out like we can. They breathe by constantly swimming and filtering the oxygen in the water through their gills. The oxygen latches onto blood cells and carry it though out the whole body, giving oxygen to vital organs and such. It couldn't breathe in and create a vacuum, even if it wanted to

I know this is just a movie, and don't hate on me for this (i'm stating what would have really happened if this was a true story) but irl the military would have taken care of this. The military was in the movie, but it would have been there sooner and the military would NEVER let some rich guy to HELP the people take down the meg. Military would put the rich guy into safety and will not let some random people handle a giant prehistoric shark. Another point is- The meg would have been dead long before the people discovered it alive, There isn't anything for the meg to eat, the deepest part of the ocean is the LAST place it would be. Also, what is the heck is the meg doing eating humans the size of an ant compared to the meg? Eating whales wouldn't be that bad but humans are tiny compared to that thing. Back to the deepest part of the ocean, what the hell is it doing in shallow waters the rest of the movie when it was in the deepest part of the ocean at the start? Also, i'm pretty sure an animal with 150,000 newtons as a bit force can chomp a cage made out of glass no matter how thick it was. (PLEASE DONT GO AT ME IN THE COMMENTS THESE MY OPINIONS).
