@CoffeehouseCrime Thank you for featuring this case, but please double check the photos in the video. Many of them are not of Altantuya but the late Korean singer U;Nee. Her pictures were featured a lot in media, mistaken for being Altantuya, and contributed to her depression.

all countries that have banned the death penalty refuse to extradite to a country that apply it (this is the cas in Europe), except if the country accept to turn death penalty to life in jail.

I was a young girl when this horrible murder happened and Altantuya's case has always saddened me. Initially she was blamed for everything and mongolian people mostly talked about her as if she was a s-worker. Her father really fought to the end and I hope her family and friends find peace after the murderer got what he deserved.

The woman in the thumbnail (and some of the images throughout the video) is actually an image of a South Korean singer named U;Nee who died by s**cide in the 2000s. A quick google search of both Altantuyaa and U;Nee show that U;Nee's likeness has often been used erroneously. Thanks for listening :)

@@asmokeus I can understand your perspective on the Pakistan concern, but admittedly I don’t know nearly as much about the depiction as I probably should. Given how prevalently the wrong image is used when discussing this case, I can see how the mistake was made. Just doing a quick google search with basic search terms, the only combination that alerts you to the mistaken identity is if you use both Antantuyaa and U;Nee’s names in the same search (or unless you happen to know U;Nee)

I love how you've been providing the recent history, culture, and context of the countries these crimes took place in.

I followed this case from my first ever job and now here i am almost 20yrs later watching a video abt it. There are a few things to point out tho. Not all the pictures of Altatunya is of her. Also, the information of one political party being in charge for 65yrs is incorrect (Msia gained independence in 1957), but at the time of her murder, that party had yet to be overtaken in the government (it has been since). Ironically, former Prime Minister Najib Razak sits in prison today for other charges. There's also an interesting story to the missing counsel, which in itself could be a video on coffeehouse crime, but i understand that not all info cud be covered in a short video

Love your content, been watching since you were 200k subs. You do the victims such justice and I believe that you should cover more male victim cases to shed light on them and give them the justice they deserve as well. Especially since no one likes to talk about them unless it's extremely high profile.

She was front and center in immense criminal activity like arms trading, just like any other member of the cartel, mafia, or other criminal organizations. If no one weeps for those other perps, how is this any different?

She was sn interpreter who got caught up in the middle. She was not an expert in politics or arms etc. she was practically dead the moment the deal went through.

They are poor kids, not bc their birth mom was murdered, but bc she gave them up? They may have had a relatively good experience with her grandparents, before her death, we really do not know. This video said she had them young, and gave them to her parents. We do not know what she had going on, what her reasons were. It is traumatic to have change in guardians, but it is better to give kids to relatives if you are not able or willing to put in the time and effort to be a good parent.

@hallievanoutryve3109 Yes, her poor kids because their mother gave them away and then poor kids because their mother's greedy self got her murdered. She tried to blackmail people she had no power on. She used everyone she could use and benefit from. I feel sorry for her kids and family, not so much for her.

It is very common for Asian women to give their kids away to family relatives for married old men and get citizenship around the world. Most of them having kids with multiple men and being prostitutes by choice. Same exactly with this "woman" here. She was a prostitute who cared only about money and fame, hiding behind the "translator" profession (again very common for them to learn as many languages as they can to find poor victims across the globe). Just go one travel in Philippines and check the streets. Thousands of abandoned kids with foreign characteristics. And the mothers??? Fucking around with old men living the life. I am not impressed as from a young age their families are teaching them that they "must do everything they can to get money" families knowing about their daughters were about but as long as they are sending money back it's all good.

Maybe if she stuck around to take care of her kids, she’d be alive

Hi Adrian! Would love to see you do more cases from Finland. We have many interesting cases like Kyllikki Saari, Raisa Räisänen, Lake Bodom murders, Virpi Butt, Hilkka Saarinen and many more. I know it can be hard to translate these since finnish is hard sometimes even for me, a native speaker 😂 But I would really like to see your take on some of these some day!

Never expected you’d cover this case…I’m from Mongolia and this case was so scandalous and esp-ly her father did all he could to get the attention to his daughter’s murder where justice could’ve been served….so sorry for her father who has been so much through as the whole population witnessed how dedicated he was to his poor daughter!

I remember watching about this case on the news as a kid in Mongolia! Whole country was devastated and all of people showed how frustrated they were bc Mongolian embassy n government turned blind eye on her case bc they were afraid if they got involved it might affect the relationship between two countries 💀
