I plan on upgrading to Equal Length on my 2007 WRX when i also upgrade to a bigger turbo and intercooler. As ive owned the car over the years, my opinion on EL Headers have changed. I like the aggressive and crisp note the EJ makes with EL headers.

@@FAM571 first time last September 55.8 was best of efforts. 54s is goal next month. Just need tyres and not an 32 degree day tyres and temps soak suffer. Goodjob for getting into mid 50s!

I do have to say, one really big plus about the stock headers is spool time. If someone is thinking about upgrading to another set of uels from stock you will most definitely increase the time it takes for the turbo to spool because of the amount of piping the exhaust has to go through. I just got a set of killer b's though and I gotta say they still rumble just enough for me and I'm loving them more every day and not thinking about going back!

A sti with a good turbo back set up and ulh is probably the best sounding 4 cylinder in existence. Unfortunately the results speak for themselves when it comes to the issues with ulh. I’m getting a holy header installed next week. While I dont think it sounds better then ulh, I can appreciate the reliability aspect and the hp and tq gains through the rev range.

Coming from ulh and a good turbo back setup, I couldn't agree more with you, they sound amazing. But after being on the setup for a while, I decided reliability was more important than sound, and with the elh setup.

Should try port matching the oem manifold and getting a tune you’ll notice the same and equal length is definitely not more aggressive more Honda civic sounds maybe not aggressive lol

When I mentioend it being aggressive, that was in comparison to when I had the stock UEL setup, where I could feel the EL headers definitely made my car feel more aggressive and responsive when putting my foot down. Also disagree with it sounding like a Honda Civic but to each their own.

Thank you! I recommend DCJAP, that's where I've been taking my car for servicing and car mod installs. For tuning, my car has been tuned by Ichiban, if you haven't already try giving them a call on their landline.

Hey man, I’m not sure if you’ll see this but I live in Sydney and own a 2004 XT forester. I have in an ej257 that I am building for daily driving. I am only 16 atm so I can’t have too crazy of power but I have an intake, turbo back exhaust, vf43 turbo, wrx tmic, walbro fuel pump, sti injectors and a few more things. Recently bought el headers purely cause I like the sound but hoping to get some extra power out of it too. If by chance you see this, let me know what you think.

That sounds like a good build! I notice that you didn't mention much on the suspension front, if you're planning on tracking your car, a good set of coilovers, tyres, and a rear sway bar will go a long way!

Yes, same fitment; no modifications required to fit the front bumper.

Unfortunately the shop I got it from is no longer operation. Japanparts (online store) is wherre I originally found them though.

@@FAM571I changed the header and turbo same time to killer b and a Cobb 20g. Miss the low end power but the new turbo gives me such nice top end. I love it.

The fact that you buy a 44k+ STI and it comes with shitty oem headers is just sad. I have a 20' STI with over 500+ hp and tq running on E85. I got the Tomei ELamd FP Red with Grimmspeed FMIC.
