My friend wants to get into Killteam, I just happen to be painting Death Guard and wanted to learn if they would be a good team to field. Thanks to you, I think they will be fun to run!

@@TabletopImpulse I don't know. MALICIOUS VOLLEYS and VIRULENT ROUNDS for everyone. Six marines as one group with the Plague Bell and 12 possible shots per round. Maybe.

I've run and played against #2 a few times in friendlies. Bloody fun and brutal if you or your opponent makes a mistake against them.

I think it's because, Compendium Death guard are one of the last few relevant Compendium teams, Death Guard are cool, and weirdly there are not many overview videos about Death Guard.

Going to take the little Sisters to a tournament in June. I am very hopeful, acts of faith are crazy :) I have a few games with them, but in my meta its going to be an easy TOP3 now with the commando and PF nerf. I even got the OOP Sisters dice :)

Relentless is even better than you think. It's not reroll 1s- that's Ceaseless. It's reroll "any or all" dice (so, in practice, all misses).

i think the nurgling has some merit because with a dg moved into a critical area, that means the enemy op cant pick up and run or cant make the 2ap action to fall back

Hmm, good point well made. Not thought about this team in a while. I wonder if the nurgling is particularly interesting in the context of the new tac ops.

couldn't you take 2 icon bearers instead of 2 troopers so (1 trooper, 2 icon, 2 specials, and the champion)

No; other then the warrior you can only include each operative once.

I like the DG team. They are almost ludicrously durable & ignoring the injured condition is a big bonus. The filth censer is a big waste in my experience. I’m really hoping they do a WD team for them that adds some of the DG minor characters as options, such as the Tallyman, Malignant Plaguecaster, or Plague Surgeon. It’d make list building harder, but more tactical flexibility. Fighter vs. Heavy Gunner is going to depend on who I’m facing & the mission, but I’m probably going to lean towards the fighter - he can do some nasty melee & if he hangs out near the guy with the plague bell he might catch an unwary opponent napping.

I lean fighter too, and characters in a white dwarf list would be awesome.

Great video, im so looking forward to the bespoke death guard team:D but quick question, can you take two icon bearers? I dont see where you cant take it in both kill teams, i might be missing something but its a straight upgrade from the warrior right?🤔

I think, Plague Marines are more durable, but don't deal as much damage as Legionaries. I also the DG equipment is not useful.

Equipment has a bunch of bad choices but I think enough good choices - ie grenades - to be viable.

btw I have a very nicely painted up DeathGuard Team, 6 with fixed weapons, I have my champion with Plague sword and Boltgun, plasma, icon, knives and bolter x2. Every time I went against something I lost, old CSM basically mopped the floor with me and Drukhari also just blasted me to shreds before I could get to the middle of the board. I dont want to brag but with about 4 years of KT experience I think I somewhat understand the game, but I think DG is weak at the moment. Hope they will get some kind of a buff in the near future.

Old CSM had a big advantage early on when they were the only six man elite team, but I would be surprised if you lost to them now that death guard have six models.

Boltgun on the leader can be worth it on a board where you’re planning to drop bolter desciplin

Yes; but I just don't think going big on bolters is a worthwhile play with Plague Marines. Go Deathwatch or Grey Knights if you want to do that.

While it's true that quantity has a quality all of it's own there's a certain bare minimum of quality that you need for that quantity to be effective. The fact is Pox Walkers are so bad as to not reach that minimum, and probably never did.

Hard agree. I think it was just about arguable as an edge case before the balance dataslate, but now, no way no how.

Command Point have a lot of spicy takes. They play mostly on TTS though, which does materially change the game.

Yeah, plus I think there is a big diffrence between typical UK Kill Team Terrain (Octarious) and Typical US Kill Team Terrain (ITC).

The Bell is so hard to use. Because you ring it, then move dash, and then you’re not in range of your folk anymore. If you decide instead not to move bell dude much, you’re offsetting any advantage. Frustrating

Basically, view it as a turn one movement boost. Put it on a bolter guy and then probably having a bolter guy hang back is worthwhile for most missions.
