Rules clarification: There's a mistake in Turning Point 3 when a dash maneuver is performed after a charge. This is not normally allowed, which we're aware of, but neither one of us caught the mistake at the time.

Each operative can have multiple items of equipment but they can only take one of each type.

Thanks, I’ll pass on the compliment to Jester! I agree, she did a great job with the Custodes and that basing scheme is pretty unique for 40k lol. I don’t know if you ever experience this when shooting yours, but I found myself part way through wishing we had managed to record one of the practice games as both were nail-biters to the end!

Ok that's what I call a great battle report. The editing is superb also the camera is not shaky and the narating is crisp. I guess you have a new sub here. Keep on the great work 👍

Poor Death Guard! Good on them for cracking in. The Custodes margin for error is so much more lenient (Didn't matter in this game as they were well piloted) the Death Guard just couldn't survive those rolls! Great Vid as always team! Keep it up!

Yeah there’s only so much you can do when Lady Luck decides to scorn you! I’m convinced the Death Guard can hold their own against the custodes but things have to go their way for it to work and those dice just weren’t having any of it! Glad you enjoyed the video mate, thanks for watching !

You guys should do some more battle reports, or even put out some videos on how you guys think both your teams played (like what’s their strengths, weaknesses etc.) I’d watch those. Maybe put it out there in a community poll and see what you get for feedback.

Enjoyable watch as always keep it up. One thing tho, Dash can't be done in same activation as a charge so the custodes leader shouldn't have been able to get back into cover - I keep making that mistake as well

Ohhhh very good point. Thanks for catching that! That’s something we usually remember but I need to get better at remembering rules while filming. Most of my mental capacity goes towards the filming side of things lol!

The buff to DG made this closer than it would’ve been previously, but the dice were definitely on Jester’s side. Aegis of the Emperor definitely paid off.

For sure :) While I'm happy with how the battle report came out, during filming I found myself wishing we captured one of the earlier games which were really close all the way through. Looks like DG can be a relatively good match up now for the Custodes but unlike the Custodes, the DG can't get away with mediocre rolling.

What's the name of the music that plays at 10:19 ? Its so epic 😮

Even with so many bespoke teams out there, the Custodians are still a force to be reckoned with.

Can some one explain why 15:30 they didn't roll to save the custode?

Custode only had 1 armor save to make, due to AP2 on the plasma pistol. Custode was in cover, so the one roll is autopassed (no need to roll), blocking one normal hit.

Spoiler alert. Very enjoyable match up. Plasma weapons vs the heaviest infantry in the galaxy. Plasma still wins! The fight between the Plague Champion and the Custodes was was a highlight and Jester certainly got revenge for the battering her Blood Angels infiltrators took in the other bat rep.

I have a question, while in the activation phase shooting. Why do the models save on fewer dice then attacks? 4 attacks vs 3 save dice? Is this a Plague Marine rule?

@@ghitapaints91 Hi Sebastian! This rule is a feature of Kill Team where the shooting process is very different from 40k. You don’t roll saves equal to the times you’ve been hit (that’s a 40k thing). The amount of dice you roll is equal to your defense value (which is normally 3 for a lot of models). In the example you reference, plasma weapons reduce this further because of their Armor Penetration rule (standard shots reduce the number of save dice by one, super charged shots reduce it by 2). Hope that helps!

I appreciate the kind words :) We have a fair few teams, (not all of which have featured yet) simply through virtue of the fact that we’ve been in the hobby a long time (I started in 1998). We’re slowly getting some of the bespoke teams ready to feature and at some point I’m hoping to do a narrative series with them.

We treat them as modeled, custodes with guardian spears. There's no distinction between Guard and Wardens in the Kill Team Compendium rules.

I think you guys have to cleanest and easiest bat report to follow.

Nice batrep, hate to see the death guard get overrun like that. In the games ive played the missions with the narrow deployment zones seem to be better for the dg as most of your movement is forward. Dg will always have a special spot in my heart but they're just too slow for me. I recently played a couple games with the corsairs and necrons, big fan of both. Even though the necrons are slower, they are the shooty team.

Amen brother. I have a soft spot for the Death Guard and I love their resilience but it’s plain chaos space marines for me. I’ll be playing legionnaires as soon as the new models are painted up, I hear they’re fairly middling for a bespoke team but that just tells me they’re balanced. Hoping to main them.

@@GrimdarkGamers If you run death guard, blight launcher> fighter is the way to go for elite teams imo. Maybe its just the guys I play against, or maybe they take their eye off him because he isn't plasma, but in every game I've played with the blight launcher he consistently does more damage than the plasma and draws less fire. But even though I've got my fancy corsairs and my shiny necrons, I'll still circle back to my favorite group of anti vaxers to shake things up from time to time

Wait, how come you can take six DG operatives? I thought you could only take five. Also, it's said that the DG have been made more tough for Kill Team, but I thought that the new faq only applied to 40k?

Kill Team got a balance update a few weeks ago. In addition to things like the much needed pathfinders nerf, pretty much all marine teams (with a couple of exceptions), got an extra warrior. Death Guard was one of those teams.

Should have taken invuln saves against that plasma. Awesome bat rep.
