Match started and the did this weird drop ball in the centre to start the game its dropped he's knocked it a touch out of his feet then smashed it on half volley, top corner, off the kick off. We all looked at eachother knowing full well we're about to get bummed. He was a different level then to every kid in the area he was at city academy at the time i played blackburn there was other kids in bury that were at united etc. Promising kids. But he was the best i ever played against; was buzzing to see him go on to do so well after leaving city academy.

Kieran signed when we were really struggling. he's come in at a time when our premier league survival was looking really dubious and with no guarantees about being able to sign anyone else. whereas a lot of players wouldn't have wanted to sign because of the possibility / probability of relegation, he came in with a big positive presence and an infectious positivity and belief in what the group can do with a united commitment to hard work. we'll never know whether anyone who came after would have took the plunge if he hadn't been first one in. he's impressed me so much with his performances and with his down-to-earth charisma. i hope he stays with us for many years and gets the reward of being part of an ongoing upward trajectory. And when he retires I hope he does so having earned legendary status with the fans.

I'm die hard Liverpool but am impressed by the way Newcastle have turned it around. Eddie coming in was key to that. Players like Kieran wouldn't have come in if Steve Bruce were still there. Good luck lads. It's refreshing to see Newcastle playing well again and TG smiling about it. My favorite podcast from the UK. Keep up the great work. Thanks

One of the best like one to one talks with a footballer that I have personally ever seen...it's soo good...almost like a documentary...the mindset and what goes in beyond just what we see on the pitch...it's beautiful to hear Actually 👍

Having a current player of podcast who is still playing is such a good insight on football Especially a player who’s went abroad and getting their experience Jude Bellingham would be a class one for the future.

As a spurs fan, hindsight is a terrible thing. We really turned on Trippier way too quickly considering he’d walk straight into our RB/RWB position still. I was one (particularly after his OG against Chelsea) who turned on him and seeing what’s occurred now, I would do anything to have this man back in the squad and in the team…

I turned on him as well and even though he was horrible that season. He was still a great servant to the club and in hindsight we still haven’t been able to get a RB nearly as good as him. That being said Levy still handled his departure disgracefully.

Great podcast as per usual, brilliant to see Trippier on the pod. I find it so mental watching your whole journey from ranting about newcastle to getting Newcastle legend Shearer on the pod I thought was the max to then getting the marquee new era NUFC world class player Kieran Trippier on the pod it’s class to see.
