This actually makes me so sad, my Bsf has dyslexia, and loads of people aren't friends with her because she doesn't understand a lot of stuff. She has different maths and other subjects but I always believed in her and I still do to this day, we've been friends for 7 years and I've helped her to improve on a lot of stuff. She was so worried on the last day of school, were going to a new school and we're both going to different schools and she said "What will I do without you, I might get lost or if I get stuck I can't have you to help me!" She's improved so much over the years, I'm so proud of her 💞

Actually this portrayal of dyslexia is extremely inaccurate (and offensive due to the inaccuracies)- I’m over here from sssniperwolfs video and as someone who actually has dyslexia, the truth (proven through studies) is that something like 99.9% of ppl with dyslexia are hyper intelligent (smarter than most other ppl) and it usually goes undiagnosed bc ppl with dyslexia are so smart and thus are able to cover it up ... for me, mine went undiagnosed until I was in grad school (and was only diagnosed bc my issues related to dyslexia were getting worse and I went to see a psychologist about it who tested me for it)!!! I have done well in school (bc as I said ppl with dyslexia are highly intelligent! This includes Einstein! Literally the epitome of intelligence!!! A person with dyslexia!) - I graduated from a rigorous school district- top in the nation with honors (no assistance- t he district even wanted to skip me up 2 grades in 5th grade), scored very high on college entrance exams that I didn’t even finish due to the reading intensive nature of the exams (if you’re diagnosed with dyslexia you are allotted more time due to the nature of the disorder- I probably could’ve scrounged up a perfect if I had the extra time necessary), graduated summe cum laude (highest honors) from a rigorous university (no assistance), high scores on GREs, out score my peers on grad school exams (even before I got assistance with my diagnosis- and the only assistance I get is extra time on exams) 🤷🏼‍♀️ Before grad school, I only got assistance in 1st and 2nd grade for a reading recovery program (if my parents were amazing parents they would’ve actually met with the reading rehab teacher and pushed for a diagnosis, which would’ve granted me assistance and helped me to understand my difficulties and possibly get some sort of treatment- albeit it can’t be cured or really improved but you can get assistance in terms of more time on exams and counseling to improve compensatory methods- although before uni- in high school and lower grades- good teachers usually allot extra time on exams already so that students of all/most abilities can finish- usually about time and half from how long it takes them to finish taking it.... but again on the entrance exams the time would’ve really helped)

And none of them even tried to help me out. I was sent to some program for kids with special needs, but that made me feel like I was being excluded and pushed out. This video is so relatable for me.
