It’s a distraction. The only reason girls wear that is to attract boys. Everybody knows it and u can’t deny that .Here in the uk we wear uniforms. My opinion on school dress codes: Schools should never allow students to wear skimpy and tight clothing! If a student or teacher does not want unwanted attention, they need to wear more modest clothing! I know that all bodies are different, but when I was in school, my school had a very strict dress code, and nobody ever wore skimpy and tight clothing!

I'd just choose to be suspended and tell my parents everything and they could sue the school and get that principal fired

At my school, girls can't wear tank tops, but boys can. Not just spaghetti straps, but also regular ones. This is both sexist to the girls and the boys. So girls have shoulders. Big deal. So do boys. Why do we have to hide it and they don't? We can't control it. And as for the boys, it assumes that all boys are just looking for any opportunity to catch a peek at a girl's skin. I've seen at least ten girls wear tank tops around boys, and the boys didn't even notice. It's not fair to both genders.

I as a middle school student was wearing a regular t-shirt and leggings and many other girls were wearing just what I was wearing and I had gotten school dress code on my FIRST week there. I had asked what was the problem and they had simply told me NOTHING about what had been the problem and they would write it up. This happened about near the end of school were literally nobody was paying attention to me or would see me as a 'distraction' when they were busy getting to class within the 5 minutes in crowded halls. Girls will probably not do that because schools and society already make us feel insecure and unsure of ourselves because whatever we wear is 'slutty' and a 'distraction'. They say It's too short. They say it is not appropriate for the weather as well even though they would rather have us wear sweaters in heat for wearing a t-shirt that is not too short or long either. What I do know very well is that you are uneducated and know nothing about this topic and how it has hurt girls from even just 11 years old. They just want girls to follow men's rules and believe their sayings of when 'we want it' and 'we are asking for it'. On the news in 2017 a SECOND GRADE girl who is about 10-11 wore a dress with a shirt that was only 2 finger strap. A YOUNG girl who has no intention of it? A second grade minor is a distraction? Let's teach men like you to respect girls instead of telling us to shut up, cover up, and obey.

Someone please ring up The Predator, The Xenomorph, Springtrap, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and every horror-masterpiece under the sun to please spook that principal.

Honestly unless the outfit is truly "inappropriate" and reveals unwanted places, both genders should wear what they feel like. Amber's outfit was totally fine for her age. But society needs to be careful about what they put out into the world. This is really a complicated problem.

It was just a shirt, it was a shirt that violated the dress code, and she knew it but she still wore it. Why are we being taught that if you do something bad, and a higher authority gives you consequences, that higher authority(the principal) is bad or a villain? She did what she was supposed to.

There’s actually a rule in the constitution that says laws that are made are not allowed to affect anyone who is currently breaking the law, so the principal is doing something illegal

The dress code is arguably stricter than a full school uniform policy

See, I think a proper dress code for both guys and girls, make sure their shorts aren’t showing their underwear or butt, make sure whatever shirt/tank top they wear isn’t too revealing, & ripped jeans are no problem, as long there’s no holes in the butt or front. Basically as long the clothes aren’t revealing a lot of areas that we shouldn’t see, these clothes are fine for them wear! I don’t see anything wrong with those clothes they have on!
