You do know a lot of homeless people have jobs, right? The corporate talking heads on tv and the web want us to believe they’re all drug addicts and schizophrenics or bums who don’t want to work. Many are simply priced out of housing or were derailed by medical debt. A crazy amount are students. Whether or not state subsidies are available it’s impossible to work, look for work, or go to school without a cell phone. They haven’t been luxury items since banks forced everyone into online banking, and arguably they were essential long before then.

​@@rpmfreak9150 I was homeless for 2 yrs. I worked at a daily pay temp agency. I got nothing for free. You're talking out of your ass. There are not a lot of working homeless, but there are some. Most of the so called homeless actually stay in shelters or welfare hotels.

If you've seen the Metro and Sound Transit "security" personnel, you'll know exactly what the driver was talking about. They're mostly morbidly overweight, so their idea of "patrolling" is waddle-shuffling up and down the transit stations in their yellow and orange vests. Usually they're eating something while walking. And every last one is bIack.
