I remember well, eastbound and down, the right turn onto the two lane bridge over the river. 30 kms, no more for me thanks. And the right turn again over the next to climb ten mile. There are old truckers, and there are bold truckers. But there are NO old, bold truckers!!! Thanks for the videos, driver !!! Shiny side UP!!! ----- Robert 40+ yrs safe

In 1985 six of us took the Canadian Pacific from Toronto to Vancouver and drove back to Edmonton. When it was my turn to drive it was Kicking Horse. It was such a thrill, especially because we were from flat old Ohio. I appreciate the videos and comments you have made, but in someway driving the old road was really a thrill. I put that drive right up there with driving in the Alps. Thanks for the memories! Best to you in the future and please be careful driving!

Drove highway coach through Golden for 15 years, back when it was still the goat trail down into the river bottom. I have really enjoyed your updates and they have finally improved what should have been done 50 years ago. Looking forward to your Salmon Arm and other stretches' of highway improvement updates, keep em coming.

Went Hwy 1 to visit our son in Medicine Hat this September, because we moved him and his family out there almost 2 years ago (March 2022). We drove the Crows Nest then, and the Kootenay Pass scared the daylights out of me. So we decided to take the No. 1 this time, plus it would be different and bloody hell if the highway wasnt closed at Golden. We had to backtrack, take the detour, and back.....made an already unbearably long drive even worse. Im glad theyve finally reopened the highway. Just hope it stays open, lol!!!

Great video as always. I was looking forward to see all this in person. Yesterday was my chance, however, the luck was not on my side. I left Calgary very early in the morning and by the time I reached that new stretch it was still dark. It was a nice drive, but could not see anything other than the road in front of me. Thanks again for all your videos!

I drove this road a few times in the 1970s. Your videos really helped me understandthe work they have done to change this from a very nerve racking drive into one that is very safe and fast. Thank-you for all of this as I doubt I will ever travel this road again. In a big way video's helped me feel what it would be like to drive this route now. Thank-you.

Yes, I have enjoyed your vids. Thank you! Please do one in the spring on a sunny day when all is green. I am really curious about the landscaping to come: will they remove all traces of the old road, such as the culvert I thought I glimpsed in one valley?

Well done! I appreciate all the hard work involved in filming these journeys. A possible suggestion for a future project. . . (If it hasn’t already been done). There are historical ‘Points of Interest’ posted along many of the highways in BC with just a brief explanation of what happened at that particular spot. I, and probably many other curious history buffs would really like to know more about these places. Would there be any chance you and your ‘team’ could take on a project like that? My hubby does not share my curiosity and is just as happy to get from point A to point B without any interruptions. I understand that, it would take forever to get somewhere, but still, I am left wondering what happened there. Just a few thoughts from an insatiably curious traveller for your consideration.
