It honestly looks amazing and very futuristic! I can see the body looking the same when released, but I am very sure the steering wheel and the seats/insides won't look the same. The inside looks like it has massive space and amazing leg room. It really is like a tiny room that moves and is designed to be a vehicle

I'm waiting for this to come to market, and I won't be purchasing an EV to go along with my ICE GV80 Prestige until I see what all we get in the EV9 Production model. I love this concept, but I fear I'll be disappointed because the production version probably won't see 70-80% of what the concept is showing. Especially here in North America. Things we likely won't see on the production model 1. No pillarless windows 2. No solar panels on the front hood/bonnet 3. No cameras for side mirrors 4. No fallout doors 5. No seamless rear window with hidden windshield wiper 6. I'm not sure about this one but I don't think we'll get that clean single 27" infotainment unit 7. We probably won't get that steering wheel 8. Now that I think about it we won't get the seating styling either 9. Probably won't get the capacitive light up touch buttons 10. We definitely won't get that beautiful center console. Uuuughh! I'll just stop at 10 before I hurt my own feelings. I Want this concept!!

Unfortunately I think they'll make it mainstream

There are some really interesting ideas starting to appear in terms of internal design. It's very cool. It's huge, not avoiding that so don't expect to see many but I really like where Kia is heading

Nice, good to see something that doesn't look like every curvy crossover out there. Big and square means lots of space for people and things even if not so good for aero.

Ah yeah, concepts are usually pretty sexy. The production model won't be as radical. I'd say prices will be nearer €75k but that's just my guess

The Niro EV will be the smaller EV in European markets to my knowledge. EV9 is smaller than the Volvo XC90.

In America it's not seen as too big. We have massive SUVs like the Chevy Suburban and other huge relatable SUVs and Trucks

If you want it's smaller version, then go and buy Kia EV6

I put down a deposit on this vehicle. Though I seriously doubt it will look like this. I love the telluride, but want electric, so hopefully it will be a happy medium.

This vehicle will look nothing like that. EV6 concept looked great too but real production vehicle end up looking like Forte model. Kia doesn’t surprise me with their cars at all. Bought a brand new 2021 seltos and regretted.

Great review Derek, exciting concept. Is the boot Golden Retriever sized however? Will it be available in a 5 seat configuration to give said Golden Retriever more space to stretch his legs?

Yes, a golden retriever 5 seater model is available but maybe better suited to an ID. Buzz Cargo?

Some really nice features and Kia are really starting to come out and challenge the industry. The EV9 (assuming the prototype makes it to production) is probably too big for Irish roads. Either way having traded in a 1-year old eNiro for a EV6, I’d be divorced if I said I was thinking of going after an EV9 😃😃 Great review though.

Slowly removing the center console is looking good but can we please just get rid of that chunk of plastic right by the right drivers knee please! And no yoke.

Interesting. Pedals look weird, will they make it to market? Steering wheel won't. Moving speakers a nightmare for sound balance. But magnet idea clever. Overall the look is not to my taste, nor are the wheels. But then the EV9 is too big for me and I would not be in the market for it. I have to wait for the c segment offer. Good video. Thanks Derek. Cheers for the comment Des, a lot of it is fantasy but interesting to hear that it's ready to go in production form and they designed this in reverse so they can tease us with a crazy concept. Won't be long until we see the real deal.

Unpopular opinion but i like the design of this car, reminds me of a Hummer. It also looks like the KIA eSoul's bigger brother. My wife has the top spec K3 model of the eSoul and it has been a joy to drive and own. Family is expanding so I'm definitely considering this provided it fits within my budget. Any thoughts on the expected price on this will be Derek?

Given aero is so important you have to wonder why did car companies not place as much emphasis on it before? That said, collapsible roof rails and flush door handles are going to make minimal differences to a cars Cda.

Aero matters in a 3-tonne brick! For the limo market, this isn't bad, not sure about the mass market in Europe though, we are not as fond o,f ahem, penile compensation as the US is.

Thanks for the comment Tom. It seems BIG on camera and I was surprised to see an EV of it's size come to Europe but it's actually slightly shorter than an Volvo XC90 and they sell plenty of those over here without the compensation comment ha ha 😂
