Khanyisa meets Sebakwe, the dominant bull of the Jabulani Herd.
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Hello Uncle Sebakwe!
Khanyisa had the good fortune of meeting Sebakwe, the gentle giant of the Jabulani Herd. Sebakwe is the dominant bull and a very kind and caring elephant, though very protective of his herd.
He is well known as the Amarula elephant for featuring in various Amarula marketing campaigns over the years.
The morning went so well, and Sebakwe was so patient in waiting for his turn to say hello and introduce himself. Khanyisa kept with the females, but he eventually got a turn to touch her, even though it was brief.
Lundi kept her loving eye on Khanyisa as her allomothers Bubi and Klaserie fussed over for most of the morning. Keep watching for some "touching" moments between Khanyisa and Klaserie.
Heart Smiles all around!

That baby was well loved from the beginning. It's heartwarming to see so many of the females offer accept Khanyisa's suckling. What a comfort to a baby who had lost everything. Dear sweet memories.Thank you🙏❣️❣️❣️
...'nor will the rest of us forget these most precious of moments, either! There toward the end of this video as Khanyisa and Klaserie just wide-open-up to each other reaching trunks up into and around one another...and Klaserie extending her front leg lovingly-protectively as she encourages Khanyisa to partake of the minerals just tossed in front of her, could be object lessons showing a Mother's love and her child's loving response for lots of folks....WoW! that's the universal language displayed about as good as it gets. You and your team are awesome...beyond awesome; I've studied Elephant...African Elephant! for decades, and know how nurturing they can be, but this is the most gentle, affectionate behavior I've yet to see. I'm sure many, many days, weeks, and years of patiently working with your herd is what it has taken.. now shows its rewards here! Much of the World could learn from what you have accomplished, still are doing; Thank You!

@Frank Wolf -- The last 2 minutes of this film was one of the most fascinating interclan transactions I've ever seen. You are spot on. If you know elephants then you've seen how brutal a dominant male can behave towards an orphan outsider like Khanyisa. It is so rare to see an entire herd accept an orphaned youngster from another herd. What I saw at the end was an insecure Khanyisa attempting to make a submissive gesture to the big female, and be subtley rejected. Immediately Khanyisa walked away, looking to me, dejected. Now I may be personifying the exchange, but the big female (Klasserie, you say?) also picked up on the little cow's vibe. I watched this a few times and realized that when Khanyisa was trying to put her trunk in Klasserie's mouth, the big girl was eating. As soon as Klasserie finished with her branch, she went straight to the tiny one and encircled her with her trunk, where she was demonstratively affectionate and allowed Khanyisa to freely explore her. I've never seen an elephant apologize in many years of working with them, but I believe that is exactly what we saw. This was the moment, for me, when Khanyisa was made to feel a member of this tribe by her aunt/sister. I've also seen Bubi acting like a blood relative, protecting, guiding, soothing, nurturing... but this transaction with Klasserie was very special, as is this herd of orphans and the angelic people who give so much of their lives to these elephants. Thank you Frank for expressing this so well.
That little girl is truly the shining little star of the herd. Everyone loves her.
Her carers are amazing. They deserve so much credit for their kindness, love and dedication to this little one and the herd 💕💖
This brought me to tears. Thinking about what she has been through, I've been following her story from the beginning. The herd, so accepting and loving. I am sincerely overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing her evolving story. Sending big hugs to you all, God bless.

@small coffee Most likely not. You have to be pregnant and produce certain hormones during pregnancy in order to have milk for a little one, but only after giving birth. In case you have milk then but no one to feed, your body cease to produce milk every day little by little. If a little orphaned one arrives too late, your body may have stopped completely and can't return anymore to former state of producing milk. But in case there is still just a little milk when the little one arrives and it tries to suckle you, your body immediately increases milk production more and more every day.
I love how tactile elephants are! Humans need to follow this example!❤❤🐕🐕🐘🐘💜💜
Thank you for sharing these precious moments with us. If only humans would learn to be as patient, kind, thoughtful, and loving just imagine how beautiful the earth would be. Sebakwe is magnificent! Klaserie just wants to play with Khanyisa.....is she still a young elephant ?
She doesn't pay attention to him. She's a cute little snob.
13:30 Just watch that over and over again. THAT IS why these creatures far surpass humans when it comes to loving unconditionally no matter what. This baby is a newly adopted member of the family, still getting to know everyone, they know NOTHING OF HER PAST aside from whatever trauma perhaps she may still carry, and look at how instantly they protect and care for her. The second she steps maybe a few inches down in there to explore that hole, her attention immediately goes to making sure she is ok. They don't care who she is, where from, only that she is a beautiful little girl who needs a family and now has one. No words.
