This shouldn’t have been said about Conor and it shouldn’t be said about Khabib. They both deserve a pass. Everyone should fight wherever they are best and most comfortable, to their discretion, and deserve NO criticism from the fans for not cutting less or more weight.

Plus no one at the time was telling Conor to move up don’t create a false narrative in fact people were telling him to defend his fw belt. Here's a little something About Chandler that you guys might not know. The guy is the current stand in for the Khabib vs Justin fight, if anything happens and one of those guys can't make it to the fight, chandler will fill the role. NOW, for this reason, he is also currently cutting weight in time for the fight. IF he is able to make weight, he gets his show money. Doesn't matter if khabib or Justin pull out or not. He gets his show money either way, without stepping into the octagon. Now, how much is he getting paid to be a replacement for a championship fight? I don't know. But I would imagine a good bit considering all the things involved. What my thinking is, he feels like he is in a good, safe place with his deal with the ufc for this specific fight. The ufc didn't know that they would be going crazy looking for a guy to match with Islam 9 days before the scheduled event or they would've negotiated that with chandler in their deal as well. But that didn't happen. And chandler got the deal to be the replacement for the championship fight. And now he feels like he's in a good spot with it and refuses to budge when it comes to fighting Islam. That's my 2 cents.

Doubt Tony would fight anyone who isn't in the top 5 even 10. Doesn't make sense even if hes friends with the Champ

@@juni1634 It's not about being friends with the champ, it's that Khabib has put it out there now, beat Islam and you're NEXT. Tony can't gaurantee that even if he beats a top 5 guy, so this is a big opportunity. What this shows is how confident Team Khabib is of Islam beating Tony. Interesting stuff.

no i think Khabib knows that Tony not gonna take the fight, he said that in Kevin from Yahoo interview, he just a little pissed that Chandler said he didn't know Islam and how can he didn't know top 15 LW if you went to UFC and fight in LW division

Because the interest lies with Khabib, how he might be beaten, and why is this fight more interesting than others Khabib has had. The fight is interesting to the extent the outcome is uncertain. Big question is "Who can beat Khabib?". If the big question was "Who can beat Gaethje?" We would hear "Gaethje has never faced an opponent like Khabib".

Chael, I sent you a video a year ago saying that whoever beats Islam will become an instant contender, explained why, and said if Kevin Lee wanted a title fight (at that time he was in the conversation), he needed to fight Islam. You never posted the video, never responded. Islam is basically Khabib's brother, and their tradition dictates that he'd have to defend his bro's honor if Islam loses to anyone. Told ya.
