So much respect for Demian Maia, a living legend in BJJ and in MMA giving props to the Eagle Khabib. Thank you for sharing this amazing story, it's nice to know all the way back in 2012 they knew that Khabib was a beast.

Love Maia. Had some amazing fights and always respect and honor. It says enough when fighters talk about khabib. Truly the best lightweight ever. There are Connor fans and armchair mma experts that find reasons to discredit khabib. But when your fellow fighters of al weight divisions talk about somebody like that…… we saw a truly special fighter compete in khabib

Khabib or jon depending on your thought, imo but its both fair, khabib is the best imo, and jon is like close 90%, he is 1.4 goat cuz he just isnt number 2. For a long period of time i dont think lightheavy weight was stacked, lightweight was always fucking stacked. Jon jones is great light heavy weight goat one of the best fighters that ever lived but when he was coming up, the lightheavy weight division was stagnant, and there was nobody of the size and athletisism of Jon jones, when that changed jon wasnt winning as impressively, shogun, machida, rampage etc, were all good fighters but they werent complete fighters they werent very well rounded, Jon Jones was just bigger, more athletic, and more complete, he had everything, but when he fought gustafson a man his size, probably not as athletic but about just as skilled but more so in a different order, he looked lacking, and you see his recent fights and its not the same, reyes should have won, couldnt put away santos with 2 torn acl, couldnt put away johnson, or gustafson dominated but it wasnt the same jones as before cuz the skill cap isnt pride level anymore. Plus the different controversy's john has faced, you know them i dont want to talk about them. Then you see khabib, controversial fight against tibau i had it 2-1 khabib, but he didnt any controversy ever again, he dominates everyone, no losses, all well rounded fighters, all guys his size, nobody from the pride era, everybody in their prime, conor, gaethje, porier, rda, johnson, easy work, not even hard fights, no controversy outside the cage or barely lol nothing thatll get you suspended, i mean for me its a hard pick but its your opinion and mine, if you say jon then lol your probably right, but i pick khabib and im right too, this isnt science where only idea can be right, this is fighting.

Nurmagomedov didn't do too good vs Tibau & he was very emotional after that bout. With that being said... As honest as Nurmagomedov is,why do u think he began to cry after the Tibau bout?.Do u think he truly knew he had face his 1st defeat,but instead he got the nod becuz the ufc knew he had a big following & can bring in big money from Russia?? Im just curious??🤔 Nurmagomedov only had 4 title defenses, same as Woodley.

Because the fight was unfair, Tibau was on the juice. Also at that time ufc didn't care about him. Tibau was his 2nd fight. If ufc cared about him they wouldn't give him the title shot after winning 10 fights.

you have to remember, Tibau was Khabib's second fight in UFC. Tibau was at his peak, more experienced fighter and juiced up. Khabib on the other hand is very young, inexperienced UFC fighter and yet he pressured Tibau. and Tibau did not finish him. A win is a win no matter what. your idea of him being big and bring big money has nothing to do with anything, LOL, you know how small amount a fighter's pay is even now, how much more 8 yrs ago.

I don't believe that time he was a main target for UFC to potentially became a superstar or cash cow, he was still new n not that known like after few fights later, and the reason he cried after the Tibau fight was he had a lot of issues or problems before that night, wasn't easy for him back then, he wasn't financially stable, a lot of sacrifices n he's a foreigner n he wasn't with Ali n AKA gyms yet, that's what I remember.
