    Are you serious? Renzo is known in Jiu-Jitsu and Martial Arts for being one of the less educated and stupidest in the Gracie Family, hahahaha. I'm not even kidding, he's brother of Ryan Gracie, black sheep of the Gracie Family, both were known for their racial slurs and bashing people for being poor. Renzo Gracie is a shame for the Gracie Family, ask anybody.

    Leandro he is kind of a clown but I think he’s comfortable with it and knows he speaks before thinking, some stuff he says gotta brush off as just rash talk, but his contributions for making BJJ available across major cities in the US is undeniable. Contradictions exist in everyone.

    ZazaGilberesh From a perspective of someone who lives and trains in the US, it's reasonable to take him as a clown. But the thing is, Renzo is a really bad/evil man, he and his branch of the family(Robson Gracie) are known in Brazil for being always involved in cagey street fights, calling people racial slurs and bullying(there are many derogative slurs for poor people in pt-BR)other BJJ guys from the ghetto academies that competed in the BJJ scene. Renzo and his brothers were practically the reason that vale-tudo was banned in Rio in the 90's, because "the BJJ guys" Renzo and Ryan Gracie were starting huge fights when they lost in significant fights. All of this history is broadly told and available on KZread, but 95% of this content is only available in Portuguese, sadly.

    Renzo said that khabib had the best half guard pressure he's ever seen. No one can get under him. If a bjj guy can't get under you, delimna creation is nixed. As a bjj blackbelt I can tell you, it's very easy to defeat someone who doesn't have atleast a binary threat in their approach. Not being able to ever get under someone would mean I have to fight them at their shoulders like a wreslter from my guard. And...well...against khabib, I'll lose.

    His foundation is Freestyle Wrestling. In wrestling you have EDD ( Every Day Disciplines). From all ages & levels you drill the same moves & techniques everyday, everyday, everyday, through your whole career. The grind & work ethic of Wrestling is second to none. That said I’ve heard Khabib speak of Judo with esteem & the greatest respect, saying that it’s “even harder, little bit, than wrestling”

  • @Pric3less1

    @Pric3less1

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@robertnewell4054 as a guy who’s done both Judo and Wrestling and is currently training Jiu Jitsu, I wholeheartedly agree. What I noticed having done Judo first as a teen and then wrestling in high school for two years (my wrestling was and still kinda is dog shit just so we’re clear) what I’ve noticed that was hard for me was tying up in the Gi and the constant grip fighting in Judo that would often times leave my fingers mangled (not to mention I play guitar which is even worse). Gi grips in Judo and especially stiff arming as well as armpit grips can be used to stall for a few seconds before the ref calls a Shido, and also it can make hip throws much more difficult because of the space created by said grips that prevents you from closing that gap. Also, Judo has a very high learning curve compared to wrestling. Aside from Ukime (breakfalling), foot sweeps are some of the first attacks you learn at white belt, and foot sweeps are seen as advanced attacks in wrestling while typically taught to beginners in Judo and foot sweeps are very very hard to pull off, even at black belt. In my opinion, I think foot sweeps should be taught at later belts in Judo because in both wrestling and Judo you only see advanced guys hit foot sweeps consistently. When I transitioned to freestyle wrestling in high school, my Judo stance gave me problems because I wasn’t used to people shooting in on my legs and like most Judoka my standup game was largely clinched based, similar to that of Greco Roman. Also when I would shoot I would get sprawled on HARD by the older more experienced guys at my school, my neck wasn’t used to that either, so building a base even against another equally just as bad as me wrestler let alone one who’s way better than me would still be incredibly difficult to do. Even to this day in Jiu Jitsu I know that I can shoot and double leg them with ease, but I often times don’t shoot because I still have PTSD from my wrestling days lol and I worry about getting my back taken off of a failed shot, so instead I try to tie up and force the clinch and when Jiu Jitsu guys feel my grips they often get a sense of “oh shit fuck that I’m jumping guard” or they’ll run away from me and sit down. My two cents in comparing the two is that wrestling is easy to do but difficult to master whereas Judo is much more demanding of skill, repetition, drills drills drills, developing balance, timing, and understanding body manipulation for throws, sweeps, trips, etc what I mean by that is that wrestling is natural. I mean look at bears when they fight each other, they wrestle but it has a flow to it in terms of how they position themselves and move their bodies. Us humans are no different, wrestling ergonomically makes sense in terms of sprawling to defend takedowns, stuffing the head, whizzers/underhooks, tripoding, building a base, breaking down a base, etc so even if you have bad wrestling, in a matter of let’s say, 30 days of training if you have no grappling experience, you will be able to actually apply wrestling against a resisting opponent even if you are bad. Judo on the other hand isn’t quite that simple. It will take MONTHS before you will be able to apply Judo against a resisting opponent effectively and it just takes time to develop. I know that’s a lot but just wanted to share

  • @torarinvik4920

    @torarinvik4920

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@muridae83 Yes that is true, I was just thinking of the positions on the ground where BJJ shines. And RDA is probably one of the best BJJ guys. The referee position is one where wrestling people frequently end up in. For instance when you comit a foul. But as a complete grappler I think Khabib is the best. Werdum may have better guard, and Maia may have better all-around ground game including submissions. But as a complete grappler and fighter Khabib is second to none as far as grappling goes IMHO.

But I honestly feel that a big part of his success is his physical attributes he’s a tank at 155 he has to do a great deal to get down that light and he’s physically stronger. This is something I don’t think people realize every time someone recounts fighting khabib it’s never, oh man he was so technical he was always one step ahead.
