Hands down the most successful escape I use. I'm still pretty inexperienced, I've been a blue belt for about a year but I've been using this escape soon after I first started training. It's low risk and really doesn't take that much energy which is good for when you've been getting you butt kicked and now your flattened out...you can take a deep breath, gather your thoughts and set this up. A little push into them they often thinks you're trying to elbow escape or something and they try to flatten you back out. Use their momentum with whatever you have left. Thank you for posting this video and helping all the people out there trying to get better at BJJ.
Hit this today on accident, I couldn’t believe it worked! Thanks for the post!

Glad it’s working for you. Never give up
Thank you!
Thank you for this. The "thread the needle" with the legs is such an important concept that I'm only now really figuring out. Cheers!

I’m glad it’s working out for you. I’m no different from anybody else. I often struggle in many positions even as a black belt. It’s very hard to stay focused on the details when there’s so many details and play as long as you never quit and never give up then you can’t loseand I’m not talking about just having your hand raised. I’m talking about winning deep down inside which is much much more important. Like I said before I’ve struggled on this journey like everybody else and anything I can do to help others not fail the way I did is all I’m trying to do.
I'll try this one today. Thanks.
That is 'kin AWESOME. much respect
Love it! 🙏🏻
Nice ! will try soon..
Awesome move that works!
This video is incredible, thank you!

Your welcome Any other stuff you want to know just let me know
I can’t wait to try this. I weigh lbs 162 & there is nothing but huge heavy guys at our gym. I’ve tried everything but like you described that c grip to the armpit is NOT happening. Thank you for this video & a fresh idea on escaping & possibly a sweep. 2 👍 👍

@@julesbruchez-theartofgrapp9646 I used to have that same belief. Had two hip replacement surgeries and was out for the most part almost 4 years. Things are beginning to come back but I don't have that confidence back yet to make A statement like this. For the most part I agree though
Creative moves, great details..Thanks for sharing.

So Much to learn that’a out there I just want to help everyone
That one is really good i remember when i was a white belt, i did that random ,it was instinct.
I use this all the time but like the point about the hips
Needed these details as I like this sweep, but haven’t figured out how to properly execute.

Lol Sometimes my students will roll their eyes because my details go on forever!!
Depending on the scenario, a couple different variations of this move are my favorite bottom side reversals! (and im just a little guy)😂.. I get everyone and they know it's coming. That's when you know it works 🤙

That’s right brother So glad to see that it works well for you even as an undersized opponent The hardest part is to sell it. Making sure that they’re pushing hard and trying to crush you. Once you get the timing down, like any other smooth sailing from there

@julesbruchez-theartofgrapp9646 i use it as a 1, 2 attack. If I get the roll on em, perfect 👌.. If not, they create space to get a guard back.

@@julesbruchez-theartofgrapp9646 I'll work it with a non resistant partner for awhile first and try it on new people. That's always been my formula before I hit something on legit people. Try techniques with new people first.
Are you concerned about them basing out on the initial bridge? Or are you relying on them trying to go right after you to return pressure? I enjoyed the video, thank you

Thank you for the question Yes I am always looking to use the momentum from my opponent. This is essential in this escape because it’s for a heavy pressure side control
Tricep lock??? Have a video on that?? Thanks!

@@stealthshadow9 thank you for commenting. I forgot about making that video.
Each time I try this, my partner would base out with his outside arm to prevent me from completing the bridge. Any suggestions to prevent his arm from escaping from under me to base out?

Be more specific on where he is placing his bridge hand. Remember there is no perfect move. But every-time he moved to re base out he leaving you a window 😉

Sounds like the perfect opening for an underhook

Take his arm with your legs and go for an americana with the legs if arm gets out go for bottom side control triangle if legs too short just go for a triangle hold and attack the arm thats left on your shoulder with a kimura or sum and if that dont work you could have probably reguarded on any of those steps 😅

This is a great 1st option when they give you a heavy cross face. Once they base out with their right hand (outside hand), they are giving the opening for the underhook escape to turtle or dog fight (as Matt Freedman has said) or back door escape. Gordon Ryan showed an escape w/ a similar direction to this, except using the V or C grips of both hands on the armpits but I never could do it against bigger/stronger opponents.

lol I honestly don’t know. When someone’s creating heavy pressure, we just yell “shoulder roll”
