I remember sitting in the living room with my dad and right after Kevin got done with his performance, my dad turned to me and said “there’s your winner right there.” Sure enough, he won.

He's a great singer! And an even better person. He looked so humbled by the compliments when the judges are the one who should feel humbled to listen to him sing. His music is full of story. He isn't rich or posh. He catches chicken. But he has talent. AND humility. That is more that what can be said about many other people out there. I wish I was there to join in the applause. He needs to recognise his worth.

Despite his natural talent and able to tell/sing a story... dignity is one of the most powerul armors you can get. He took all the laughs and ironic jokes with such natural calmness, and didn`t change for a bit trying to pretend something or someone else. No harm. He was just him, and that is what he wanted to share with the audience and the judges. Jawdropping. Tough lives can tell us more than an easy life. Amazing and my salutation for Skinner.

That was easily the most emotional, powerful and beautiful performances I have ever seen. The man sang from deep inside his heart. Listen to all the other artists who have sung this song including Garth Brooks, and what is missing is the emotional power this man put into that song. Just look at how moved and captivated the audience was listening to him sing that song.

We are all the same and the only thing that makes us different is what God gave us !

So sad that people rush so quickly to make a negative first impression based on a person's look or their profession or speech. Not everyone is born rich and gorgeous. This man's gentle, polite heart gives away who he really is and I'm so glad the judges woke up and saw that. How many more like Kevin are hiding out there, afraid to come and audition because they've been ridiculed all their lives?

I'm so sick of judges on shows like this doing crap like that. Laughing at him because of his accent, job, and clothes. Not everyone can become a journalist *cough* Piers *cough* or just marry someone who became successful and go from there *cough* Sharon *cough*. Maybe those are the clothes he likes and is comfortable wearing, and/or that's just what he can afford? If he's living, and in a way that he likes, then he must have worked hard at his job and be proud of what he did. He's not ashamed of being a chicken catcher, and shouldn't be. You'd think they would stop doing things like that, because like Piers said, There's always that one person they laugh at who turns out to be amazing. After shows like this have resulted in people like Kevin, Susan Boyle, and Prince Poppycock, it might be time to get off the high horse and give someone a chance rather than laugh in their face because of their appearance.
