Kevin was allowed in the den when the cubs were less than a week old. Kevin was allowed by the lioness to interact with her cubs when they are in their most vulnerable state. Lionesses will chase off their own sisters at that age. It's just remarkable

I cried right along with him when she passed😭🐾 he said something along the lines of “I didn’t just lose a lion, I lost a friend” and it was so, so true.

The way the lioness was patting his arm and looking at him with loving eyes...speechless I tell you. I couldn't believe the love and trust she has for him. Unbelievable, it truly warmed my heart.

The sweetest thing was, Kevin was holding this lioness's paw as she passed on.....last year, I believe. He was with her til the end. Rest peacefully, Ishca.

What a great person Kevin is, he should really have an entire country supporting him and what he does.

He has broken the rule of nature as no other can do. Great respect

At some places that has lions, handlers/trainers say that the mother would not allow them to handle or work with her cubs. So they say they must remove them from her in order to hand raise them. In one video I saw the handler said it is not a big deal and the mother mourns her cubs for only a little while. The methods Kevin uses is very different. He seeks to establish trust with the mother and then she trusts him to let him handle her cubs. I think his way is the best and most humane way. I'm not visiting these other places, nor watching their videos.

I'm not afraid to say this video brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful to see the bond between ishka and kevin.

I amazed how the lioness, rubs her face on him like a house cat. Then let him handle the cubs. Shows she knew he was of a kind heart. The first few moments, she is like yes I can fit in your lap, let me show you. 2:43 such a wonderful shot, taking a snuggle nap.

My grandfather used to tell me when I was a kid, paradise meant men and animals living peacefully. He loved the idea of being able to play and sleep with a lion just like Kevin is doing right here 😊😄

Kevin Richardson is extraordinary and amazing. It's rare to see a human be accepted in a pride of wild lions. Now I know why I was meant to see someone like Kevin being with lions. Life is meant for us to see and learn some very wonderful unusual things. You can make the impossible become the possible. That's what Kevin shows despite the risk. I know that lions can be very dangerous. But I have heard of one story about a twelve year old girl. To make the story short, the girl was told she was to marry an old man. The girl strongly refused. The villagers beat up the girl for her refusal. The girl was thrown into the wild and couldn't get up after being beaten. The lions see the girl. But the lions don't eat her. They sympathized with her and they watched over her. When the other humans came around, the lions stood their ground and protected the girl. They wouldn't let any human come near her. Life goes to show you that even dangerous animals can care to protect you.

I have heard of stories like that happening in Africa yes it is very rare but it has happened. I heard of a little kid that had a hippo protect him from a croc that tried to attack him while he was at the river edge. The hippo charged the croc and bit him across the back then flipped him away.
