They way he praised and praised root for playing aggressively this morning, calling it an absolute masterclass of batting when he was almost bowled first ball going for a ramp 6 then threw away his wicket for 40 odd runs when England needed him the most, Pietersen still kept heaping on the praise instead of commenting on the opposition.

Tbh from 2005 - 2013 if there was one wicket the Aussies valued highly, it was his. This is why they had no sledging rule specifically to Pietersen as it riled him up and he scored big. I still remember 06 Ashes down under. They celebrated his wicket like anything and that Aussies side was probably one of the best ever. Every batsman has a bowler or two who might trouble them. The bowler doesn't have to be a great one. Sachin found Hansie the toughest bowler to face. Doesn't make him any less of a great batsman he was. Ponting and Peterson alike had their share of bowlers they found difficult. But that doesn't make them any less of a great player they were.

Yeah same with the way Aussies booed against an 17 year old Ishant Sharma back in 2008. Englishman James Anderson Pushed Ravindra Jadeja (then 25 year old ) on basis of his race, and most importantly how English media did the cover up for Anderson. I think you might have forgotten how Siraj was abused on the basis of his Race back in 2020-21. These are few of the incidents and if someone goes deep within, they will find many more. Now that Tides have turned and Indians became a force to reckon on Social MEDIA, and moreover they are now giving it back on face to opposition, it's hard for people to digest. The Green's Catch of Gill was a controversial one and even many Aussie players vouched that, it's probably a bump ball. 😉 No-one (even Batter who got dismissed) was blaming Green. Instead they show their resentment against Umpires (esp TV Umpire). Mind you its the same Green who got all the lauds and applauds while playing in IPL (offcourse money is there 🤑 ), and most importantly we do know how to treat our guests well (even on foreign soils).

Even our own greats have vouched for their opinions on these matters. See I'm not demeaning anyone here and both Ponting and Pietersen are greats in their own rank. It's sunny all day tomorrow though so they'll probably rack up a huge score then bowl under cloudy skies on day 5. Overheads make a huge difference in England. Can make the flattest pitches look like minefields, and yeah Bazball only works when there's nothing in the pitch for the bowlers.

@@GIBBO4182 I think the point is that Bazball can only work when it's really flat. Not going to work in good bowling conditions, and hard to sustain on pitches with a good balance between bat and ball. In England you need to rely on the weather to assist your bowlers, when the pitch is flat even though aus aren't scoring as quick as England, they'll take enough time out of the game to make it hard for England to press for the win just by batting normally. And it's also shown that if there are overheads and movement around, they're not going to be able to use Bazball to negate the aus quicks.

Pietersen's insights are germane to him alone. Mentally weak. Punter typifies the Aussie grit. KP the worst of SA and Eng.

KP's problem was that his team mates didn't like him. If he was struggling with a bowler and got into that 'lonely place' he couldn't talk to those around him to work it out.

Why Kevin Peterson is on all sky sports batting masterclass??? He is not even close to any batting master class. He was just a decent batter who had few good series. Pointing, Kallis, Tendulkar, Inzimam, Viv Richards, Kholi, Sangakara, Babar Azam, Miandad, Lara etc are master class and with all due respect NOT Peterson.
