I don't respect his "work ethic" in this culture. He thinks he can be on the level of George Carlin purely by racking up the numbers Carlin accomplished, never mind the art and craft that went into it. That's not a real work ethic, that's capitalist ethic, and it's a sham. Delusional.
@moe8343
7 жыл бұрын
Well actually, a lot of Carlin's specials were shit because of the fact that he put out so many of them. And what's this "real" work ethic you're talking about? You don't make millions of dollars without having an incredible work ethic. You sound like a Marxist who blames everything on "capitalism". This guy came up in New York with an amazing group of comics (Patrice, Jim, Burr, Colin..), you may not like his comedy (I don't honestly) but that doesn't mean he's not good. Comedy is very simple: You make people laugh? You're funny. You make people laugh consistently over a long period of time? You're a good stand-up comic.

Capitalism, like most things, can be good in moderation. Most millionaires come about their money by other means than "incredible work ethic". Just look at our POTUS. Luck, inheritance, scams, etc. I'm glad he's happy, but he's arrogant and not particularly admirable.

Mowww alot of Carlins specials were shit? Which ones in particular were shit? The only one I would even partially give you is the last one, he was old and part curmudgeon, but still had plenty of good segments. He always talked about things that people thought, and rarely ever said in public, and made it funny. He was a great social commentator. To make the things he spoke about funny, is amazingly difficult, and he did with ease. He spoke the truth and intertwined it with comedy. There is a reason why he is considered one of the greats of all time, and that's fine you didn't enjoy his comedy, but to say his specials were shit is wrong. The fact he had so many specials was a testament to how good he was. It was impressive to see him just scrap his material and than make another hour, year after year. A large amount of comedians could never come up with new material like that year after year, and make it good enough to have their own one hour special. The man called out bullshit, and spoke the truth. He is a legend.

Jimmy, Nick, Bobby, bill burr, big jay oakerson..etc.. if he was really this stand up guy he claims to be then why hasn’t he found any roles for them? Instead he works with these corny A listers.

I'm not saying he ruined Alien Convenant, but he certainly didn't help.
That's one big fore head.
This is what I hate about Kevin; he speaks so highly about all the great comics that helped him come up in the cellar days, yet he makes like 10 movies a year and doesn’t put them in any of them. Jimmy, Nick, Bobby, bill burr, big jay oakerson..etc.. if he was really this stand up guy he claims to be then why hasn’t he found any roles for them? Instead he works with these corny A listers.

Maybe they want to get it on their own? We don't know. But he has definitely helped some of his mentors. Produced Keith Robinson's Comedy Central hour special.

It's the only part of him that's not moving forward in life ;)
tough upbringing? noooooooooooo
If Sam doesn't run the board, can't contribute to conversation, is unable to interview guests, cannot time a natural lull to insert himself, and has nothing interesting to offer besides nugz, WWE, and a heinous cackle... why the hell does he have a radio show?

Sterling Archer because the people I charge of the company ruined OandA, a show that was the most popular. Now are trying to get back those numbers and subs, yet are trying not to embarrass themselves that they made a monumental mistake

Mollusk & Muppet Show
I should like Sam on this show based on his Opie n Anthony appearances but for some reason I just don't.
Kevin talks about the obvious as though it's not obvious...

That story about flying the cast to a promo of his new show and then getting cancelled right before he goes on stage made me genuinely laugh.
Kevin Hart is a hack compared to Patrice. They both had it hard but Patrice never bent over.
