Bernie Mac was a restaurant manager at a place in my neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago. My friend worked there and we would go meet them at the restaurant. Mr. Mac would CRACK JOKES you cannot imagine. He was crazy insane funny, kind, and just real. Often he would give us free food, and before we knew it his career took off. One of the most genuine superstars you can ever imagine. His comedy came from the soul. Richard Pryor showed us the joy and pain in life through comedy, Carlin the irony, Cosby the mundane but Bernie showed us the soul.
I miss Him with the cigar looking at the camera... talking to America lol

I never thought about that but perhaps it’s meant to underscore his admirable focus on the interviewee and each other in order to to emphasize that it’s about us as flies on the wall?

Such an underrated show, I can imagine if he were alive today they would bring it back and have him talk to America about how those kids are driving him crazy during quarantine
Kevin Hart should host a comedy doc. Nobody talks more passionately about comedy and gives more respect to everyone he talks about than him. He needs to realize the potential.
So many unbelievably talented black comedians left us the past 10yrs: Bernie, Patrice, Charlie.

When I was a kid, we used to go to Bernie's house in Chicago on Halloween and he would give out KING SIZED candy bars and an autograph if made him laugh 😂

That cool so i assume he was great guy ?
Love seeing my brothers uplifting each other. Chris Tucker did a recent podcast where he mentioned not knowing who Bernie was and getting humbled by his set. Bernie got the loudest pop.

They are your brothers for real ?🤣
I remember someone asked Bernie if there was any subject matter he would not make fun of and he said he would never make fun of God. Respect.
Bernie Mac is still the greatest comedian to this day. Just lets you know what you leave is greater than you when its all said & done.
If you watch "The Kings of Comedy" Bernie tells just a few stories, and they aren't even close to his best bits, but he tells them in such a way that the audience belongs to him. He gets up there and takes complete control.
R.I.P Bernie ...along with Patrice o'neal and Robin Harris another comedian legend gone too soon
I miss Bernie...he was the absolute best. Never once did he fail to make me laugh out loud!
This is probably one of Kevin’s best interviews
Off to see some Bernie clips
Kevin gives the upmost respect that alot of ppl in the same profession cnt do and its real and sincere
Bernie made everyone laugh. He did it with class.
Man I just look at all these Black comedic legends man. Out of so much pain comes so much laughter yo. And that’s real.

I like your statement but let's get over the hump color scheme. Funny has no color you either are or your not. These guys are legends of the craft period. If they were any other color wouldn't matter. I like people with pride within thier communities and if that's where you are coming from pardon me for misinterpreting your statement. I think we need to lean on each other as a community of people rather then fighting each other. Comming together when it is becoming overly obvious people of power strive on our separation. Bernie was and will always be one of the best comedians ever.
its kinda weird. i like kevin better when hes just talking instead of performing

There is a taste for everyone, your not meant to like every single comedian out there, thats whats great whatever your taste its out there.
That's Why They Had Him on Last in "Original Kings of Comedy" ... NOBODY Followed Bernie!
The first live comedy show ive ever been two was the first year king of comedy when Bernie went second and Steve last... hosted by Guy Tory...I had to be about 17 I'm now 40 and have been to over 100 comedy shows and I HAVE NEVER LAUGHED HARDER THE THE BERNIE MACK KING OF COMEDY SET !
Dropping knowledge right there at the end
Bernie Mac, bar none, is the funniest comedian ever. Like he says, "You know I ain't lyin!"
Much respect to every one of this guy's brothers in comedy.
If I could bring 2 legends back that passed too soon and had so much more talent to give. It'd have to be Bernie Mac and Gerald Levert
Bernie Mac was his own hype man. He brought the house down with so many emotions.
I love Bernie Mac! “Who you wit! “ “That’s nice... real nice!”
Shout out to Kev. I've done sets before he came into the Laffhouse in Philly. In addition he co-star Smokey Suarez from "Paper Soldiers" gave me mad opportunities after meeting me when I BOMBED in my hometown Trenton, NJ.
Legit just watched Bernie on Def Jam in 92, and my god, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a comedian do that to a crowd
Bernie, the pride of Englewood. A gift from Chicago.
Well said.

Bernies show was one of the best shows that has ever been on television. Everything about it was perfect. The casting, the acting, the look of it, the writing, directing, everything and it was hysterical. It was/is like the gold standard of what a sitcom can be. It won a bunch of Peabody awards. It annoys me that it’s not talked about or acknowledged as much as it should be. Also I frigging love when sitcoms have really great comedy teams/buddies (not sure that’s the right word) getting in and out of trouble, scheming or causing silly craziness, like Lucy & Ethel, Niles & Frazier, Micheal Scott & Dwight, Dwight & Jim, etc. Bernie and that little boy were such a great team. What a perfect,, silly fabulous , hysterical pair. RIP you wonderful, talented man and thank you
Dave chappelle is the best alive rn but Bernie and Patrice would def have the crown overall
I'm playing him in the Biopic
RIP Mr. MAC!!!
As a comic you should always want to follow “The best”... just my opinion
Bernie mac is the greatest to me
Following Bernie Mac turned comedians into after dinner mints.
Mac is the guy!🎱
Milk n Cookies
Kevin turned into Dwayne at 02:05
Kevin is fucking smart. Good clips!
Leno would ask to follow Pryor at the comedy store. If he could get laughs after Pryor, he could get laughs anywhere
Side note, I haven't seen Robin in forever. She's looks so pretty
RIP BIG MAC
Stir like mutha fuckin’ coffee-Bernie Mac
Big Mac was The Comic's Comic
MR. 3000
Going after Bernie would get you laugh-tovers...get it?
Love me some Mac. F Timmy.
In the painting, who is next to Bernie? Is it Michael Winslow?
TK Kirkland gonna be mad at this 😂😂
Rip to the greatest sumuma bitch to hit the comedic stage
I'll follow anyone given the chance...but r.i.p.
MILK AND COOOOOOKIES
I can definitely see why Kevin didn't want to perform after Bernie
I MISS BERNIE....HE WAS THE KING
Loved Bernie Mac. Kevin Hart seems like a nice Guy but I hate those screaming ads he does for banks.
Uncle Bobby B
Kevin never blew up in my eyes..he still the same from the past...does good interviews tho!
R.I.P BERNIE
Meh he isn't a Dave chappelle
YOU don't understand!
Bernie is dead? Sh#t. Hearing Kevin hart saying this, really makes you understand how he became so good. The guy is obsessed with comedy.
How Kevin would Kno that??.. When Bernie was here.. Kevin did soul plane.. FOH..

I don’t think so, but that’s just my opinion, I don’t think he’s as funny as he used to be
I have to disagree. I think Bernie Mac is a funny guy naturally, but he's overrated as a stand-up
