The reason why Charles is able to say stuff like this with no scrutiny is because there was no social media, or debate shows to pick apart everything he did during his career so people simply dont know what he was doing in his time. And instead of getting in the lab to get better or go to ANY other team. He decides to join the same 73-9 team he just lost too. You can't even point to anything or anyone he's leading. That's sad. He hasn't led anyone to a chip. He hasn't led his teammates to be better (they tend to leave him). He hasn't led any special stats like most 3's or highest scorer, etc. For a guy who y'all fanboys hype as the best player or the best shooter, he has no accolades except the 2 chips GS gave him. Take those away and he's just a talented guy who didn't get anywhere... matter of fact, without those he's Charles Barkley. That's why this stings him so much.

@@MagicEmpireTV Everyone leads by example. That's the lamest leader excuse ever. Is Carusso a leader then cause he works hard? Isn't he leading by example? You can't be a leader, you have to be THE leader of the team. Durant has said himself he just wants to play, and everything else is managed by THE leader of the team. In OKC it was Russ. In GS it was Steph. In the Nets I could argue it was Kyrie, which is why the whole thing failed. Top 50 is about talent, not leadership, cause I'm pretty sure Harden was there and he's not a great leader. He didn't lead OKC to the finals, he was their best player, but Russ led that team. He also was only the best player in GS for a few playoff games. Mostly due to teams focusing on stopping Steph or if Steph was injured. But he didn't lead those championship runs. Everyone in the Org knew it. And no, players don't normally come out and call others out, but we can see it from the results. OKC everyone scattered. GS he got into it with Dray and others from jealousy. In Nets the whole team imploded and he did nothing to fix it, except threaten to leave or have the coach and GM fired. Stop the excuses, and look at reality.

There's a reason why Magic Johnson called Westbrick "the worst point guard that has ever played in the NBA", it's because of his low IQ and bad temper. Why would it hurt him when they won? They recruited KD for Lebron (who they lost to last postseason). They didnt recruit him for Jayson Tatum because Jason Tatum aint Lebron. The Warriors are 1-2 against Lebron without KD. They only got the 1 win because of injuries and everybody at that time never believed GS would've won otherwise. There was a segment on First Take titled "Did the Warriors win or did the Cavs lose" because of that. Then they proved everybody right after getting back to the finals and losing to Lebron's Cavs.

@DMeloMan Youre right about wiggins. Funny cuz imma use this point against you. Everyone always says the warriors wouldnt have won those 2 chips without KD. I say no, they wouldve won the 2 chips with any player that plays better than harrison barnes. Barnes shot like 20% in the finals when warriors lost of lebron and kyrie. If Barnes shot 40% warriors wouldve won. You dont need Kd to replace Barnes, you only need someone like wiggins. Getting KD was overkill. Dont get me wrong KD is a hella of a player, but we only needed someone above average like Wiggins. With KD warriors were unbeatable, but warriors could have won with alot of other players instead of kd, and they absolutely proved this when curry got his 4th chip. Remember with harrison barnes the warriors lost to lebron in 7 games, and in the game 7 they lost in the final 2 minutes of the game. Meaning the series against lebron was very very close, even with harrison barnes shooting 20%. Now do really think warriors “had to have KD” to win again? Come on man

@@light-rd7vq Wiggins was enough for Tatum, but they needed more than that to beat LeBron. Remember that even with KD, Kawhi was putting it on the warriors until Pacheapshot happened. Even with KD, the Rockets were a hamstring away from beating them. LeBron had defeated them Warriors mentally, they knew they wouldn't beat him, which is why they went begging KD to join them, just to take the credit for themselves.

KD should be applauded for his past honest self critique isn't that what you the media always say you want? But Charles doesn't need to hop on and say the same thing so bluntly. He can just say we know KD is not that guy the team leader and leave it at that but no need to call him a "follower." That's just insulting and unnecessary. I'm sure if a similar situation happened to you Chris you would not appreciate it. Chuck s great but he can make mistakes with his big mouth just like anyone else.

KD baffles people because it's rare to see elite Alpha talent in a non-Alpha. It was similar to Lebron joining the Heat, it doesn't fit. You expect the Greats to be larger than life, not followers or people who run when it gets tough. To even make it to the NBA and become great it takes a special talent and will, you don't expect to see that guy running away from the battle.

  • @CBrown

KD said all that needs to be said about it. The media is trying to make a story about how this man chooses to live his life and present himself. And I can personally relate to KD. I'm as introverted as they come. I don't like to speak if I don't have to. But I've been promoted to many times in my job because the people close to me, the ones that matter, can see the leadership I bring to my team. It's not obvious to anyone who doesn't work directly with me but the effort is there in the way I choose to make it. For people to continue questioning KD because he doesn't present himself like Steph or LeBron is nonsense. And it's not that these guys have this opinion, it's that they keep pushing this narrative after year. He made that statement in 2017 because of this exact same bullshit and here we are 6 years later still banging that drum. Stop.
