kevin bacon once went to rent a unit in new york and they only had a unit with 2 rooms and a guy was there to rent as well they looked at each other and said want to share a unit they agreed lived together for 4 years became friends and to this day kevin meets up with him for lunch

I found myself stupid smiling the entire 6 minutes and 13 seconds. My cheeks hurt! It is so *refreshing* to see an entire high school full of young people working together in such a positive way!! They shared a goal and a dream and saw it come to reality. That's remarkable, especially these days. And we all knew Kevin would come through without a doubt!! I hope they preserve the school as a museum. Congratulations to all these young people. A reminder that anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Yea no school shootings, beating up students, or stabbings, just kids working together, not like California here. To much violence, I grew up in the 70s in California nothing back then like now, back then no violence, people had respect, people were nice now forget it.

For a long time, I think he distanced himself from the movie, because it turned him into something he didn't want: a teen idol/pop star. Lucky for him, Kevin was able to reinvent himself and become a character actor.

Kevin Bacon seems like a cool dude. He did an interview with Howard stern and he said every time he goes to a wedding or anything with a DJ he has to tip the DJ big to NOT play the Footloose song because all the eyes turn to him. And he said that 95% of the time even after paying the DJ that the song comes in anyway, because the DJ is tipped way more than what Kevin gave him from the dozens of people who want to hear that song with Kevin there.

What an iconic way to End an Era of Excellence

The wholesomeness of this is just off the charts. Payson High School LET'S DANCE!

I graduated from Payson HS in ‘85. It was so surreal then and it’s is now!

These students did what every student should be doing, and that is to work hard and make your dream come true. Way to go Payson High! And respect to Kevin for being so cool in making their prom day extra special.

Yes they were! So thankful to have grown up during that time! Wish I could go back! I remember seeing Footloose at the theater! Time goes by so fast! The 80s were the best! 🙏🏻✝️🙋🏼‍♀️

Damned if this isn't THE most joyful, pure and wholesome thing I watch on KZread all day! I was so excited and literally on my feet cheering by the end of this! If the school is supposed to be closed down, then this will be an amazing way to go out with a bang. Have fun at prom, kids!🥰🥰🥰

As a member of Payson High. This was the greatest moment in my life sitting there watching the today show film at 5:30 in the morning. Go Big Green 🦁

The relatively geriatric cast-members of such well-known shows such as "Beverly Hills:90120", "Eight is Enough", "Happy Days", "Welcome Back Kotter", among many, many others made the "Footloose" crew of "Hollywood" pretend teens/high-schoolers look downright authentic with the possible exception of the lead actors Bacon and Singer who had just begun to grow a bit long in the tooth to pull off the illusion.

"Grease" was little more than a 'live-action' cartoon not really intended to be taken seriously from the standpoint of realistic character and situational depiction and portrayal so one is to view this production quite a bit more leniently @@kallen868

Born in 76 and never saw nor cared for the movie. But THIS is really cool. The reason I can feel for these kids is,1 of my elementary schools have closed,2 relocated along with one of my high schools. I always feel a certain nostalgic way when passing a site of one if my former schools.

Turning 50 here in a few months & I still love visiting every so often for that feeling of nostalgia & appreciation for a simpler more innocent time. God bless!

I was in the parking lot scene back then - and I didn't even go to Payson High LOL. I was ditching class with a friend's older sister that did go there so we went there to hangout. This is awesome!

I can't believe it's been 40 years either Kevin. Unbelievable. I saw this great movie way back in 1984 in the theater. It's one of my most memorable experiences as a kid.

What a great guy Kevin is taking time out of his busy schedule to come to prom with these kids I'm sure it will be a memory none of them will ever forget

40 years later! I danced so much with my sister, we were jumping from one couch to another, our parents having gone out were also having fun 😜 so we took the opportunity to have fun! A great trip back in time! And Kevin bacon ages so well 😊

Because I know my son who turns 40 next month his high school friends have children that have graduated high school. It's just insane how fast time flies.

Love Kevin Bacon work in the movies but where is his dance partner? Is she going to be there too? I live in Canada but support this amazing idea of recreating the good old days when that movie was filmed. Kevin should try to get as many movie actors who participated in that movie as he can get. I was living just up the road in Provo as a college student when “Footloose” came out. Got married that year and we have lived in Canada and Oregon since then. Now we live in…Payson! So happy for this great bunch of kids after doing all that work to get Kevin here. Thank you, Mr. Bacon, for being such a kind human being and making their dream come true!

Now that a memory that nobody will ever forget. I watched the movie still to this day and still feel like a kid again..

I've been following this story & so happy with the outcome. To all the students at Payson High School have a great prom. It's a great memory for you all to remember. And remember to put the Footloose soundtrack on & dance the night away. So glad Mr. Kevin Bacon can come.

I vowed I would never forget how it felt to be a teenager and always give them the grace so many gave me. With a love of dance AND this movie, I cried just watching them PLUS including a give back! Blessings to all involved and can’t wait to see the footage!
